Guest AlpentalRider
I am about to purchase a new pair of hardboots since i'm tired of using my old Lange Ski boots, but am torn on whether to go with the Suzuka or Le Mans. Should I go with the more flexing Le Mans, or the stiffer Suzuka? Is there a disadvantage for using one over the other? I was also planning on getting the TD2s with the softest elastamer. My riding style is push-pull technique and I like to lay eurocarves as well as slolam and gs style turning. I also live in the Seattle area so the snow is variable to say the least! Thanks in advance,
bobdea
the le mans is the same as the old raichle SB boots and those cants sucked the susuka is a tad stiffer with a much more modern construction
Art
Just got my Head boots in the mail and they seem pretty sweet. I was on Raichles for about 9 years (same pair) and I am excited to give the Heads a go. They pass the living room inspection with flying colors, but there are a few things i will keep an eye on. The buckles sem alot nicer than the Raichles. If you want to take a look at them gimme a shout. Art
Guest AlpentalRider
Thanks for the feedback guys. After all I've heard, it sounds like the Suzukas would work better for me with some nice, new TD2s (as soon as they get some 3x3 disks in!) Mark.Andersen
I agree with Bob that the cuff canting on the LeMans (same as SB series) leave much to be desired. However, if you are willing to put in a bit of time and are somewhat mechanically inclined, the cants can be vastly improved. All that's needed is a drill with a sharp 3/16" bit, some epoxy, a dremel, and 4 M4x16mm screws. If you buy 4 replacement cuff cants from Bomber ($20 total) when you order your boots, you can eliminate the need for the dremel and the M4 Screws. Email me if you want detailed instructions. After going through the process of removing the cant pieces and epoxying the sliders in place, I've got 30 days on my SB Boots with no problems. I know several guys who've achieved similar results. It is a bit of a pain, but well worth the effort. So, if you happen to fit into any of the sale boots (423s w/ thermoflex for $150 are a steal!) I think they are a much better deal than the Susukas. Additionally, SB series fit me better than the AF (Susuka/Indy). Mark
