Ear dragger
I ride with a cant plate on my back foot. after a day of riding, my shin gets an enormous knot on it! Is the cant plate the reason for that or is it my boots? any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks
neil sunday
how often do you ride? shin bang goes away when you ride a lot sometimes... i doubt it is the cant plate- most likely an improper boot fit.
Ear dragger
not as often as i used to, but i always got a big knot on my shin after a long day of riding. would it be good to crank the upper strap down hard on the boot, or leave it a little loose? neil sunday
cranking the strap can lead to numb feet, and loss of feeling and sensitivity. i personally NEVER "crank" anything on my boots. i like ot be able to have them fit snug, without movement through the use of custom made footbeds, heel lifts or wedges, and achilles / ankle pads or cross braces which make for a perfect fit... perhaps you could redrill the buckles, so they can reach a comfortable yet secure hold down on your shin. you generally do not want space b/w your shin and the tongue of the boot/liner. i have seen neopene pads placed b/w the shinand the liner- not sure ofthe effectiveness.. the addition of a BOOSTER strap may alleviate your condition. check here for info: http://www.skimetrix.com/Home.html most other "straps" on boots that come from the factory are simply not sufficient, and fall way short of proper hold down. Gleb
I've had the same problem. Booster strap is definitly the answer, maybe with a boot fitting.
