June 19th trip on Middle Fork Salmon River in ID

this is kind of a cross post since the title of the other thread wasn't totally accurate.

I used to guide on the Middle Fork ( 100 mile wilderness river in central Idaho). It is one of my favorite places in the world and I would like to try to share it with some of you. This river is mostly class 3 with a few class 4 sections depending on water flow.

Living just 2 hours from the launch area, and having my own raft I can get on almost any time. But it's nice to plan ahead and see if some bombers can make it up here. If a bunch of us put in for the same date then we have a much better chance of drawing a permit. To do that go to this website and put in for June 19th. It costs $6 dollars to apply. If you do draw, I will do everything I can to get you safely down the river. This is not a commercial trip but a trip where we all share expenses equally. Last year we spent $250 to $300 per person for the five days. That included all food costs, transportation from launch area to take out. I have some buddies who like to go quite a bit and I am always looking for bombers who may be interested.

If you are looking for a trip where everyone is up at daybreak and on the river at 9 am, this would be the wrong trip for you. We are pretty laid back on the river, but one of the bennies of spring boating is that it is easy to get down the river quickly once you launch.

I am applying for June 19th for a five day trip that would come off the river on Monday the 22nd in the evening.

The permits are not transferable so if you draw as part of our group and we start the planning process, it would be nice if you showed up.

Should be a great summer for boating.
