carvedog
There have been at least two or three threads that are talking about shin bang and shin splints. I used to have those problems. Now I always, always take my first run with loose boots and then I get to the bottom I readjust everything, tuck it all in nice and tighten 2 twists ( Burton Fire) or one full groove. I think what happens if you go too tight to start is that cold unwarmed-up muscles are constricted as you start carving. Both by there own lack of blood flow and yours boots are usually slightly smaller until the heat of your foot warms the liner up a bit too. Don't know all the science behind it, but if I warm up loose and then tighten I don't have a problem and that means I can ride longer and carve harder. This is a good thing. yyzcanuck
... Now I always, always take my first run with loose boots and ...then I take my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, .... and and and. Maybe I'm a bit weird but I don't mind having my feet slip around in my boots with the cuffs kinda loose.
carvedog
then I take my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, .... and and and. Maybe I'm a bit weird but I don't mind having my feet slip around in my boots with the cuffs kinda loose. Using Burton race plates I have a bit of flex in there too, so when I get to the full tilt boogie carve, I have to tighten up. I have conformable liners so even when snug they are very comfortable. And you are weird. Going to try for a river permit again? We have til the end of the month to apply and I am shooting for June 19th, but you probably saw that on the other thread. :D
Sinecure
Booster straps help a lot IMO.
