Broken Femur? Thought that was Steve Graham ?

If my memory is correct, and it's not always, Steve Graham exploded his knee when he clipped a tree out of bounds at Big mountain. The snow that day looked incredible. Chris Roach Launched himself into a tree and broke his femur. He almost died. Bone shards a bit to close to arteries, that old story.

I couldn't for the life of me remember steve's last name, thank you for jogging my memory.

youre welcome about reminding you about graham.

now we're in info age, id like to ask exactly which part chris roach (if i got the right person) broke his bones, and also, what happened to damian in this segment when he apparently sunk into a hole after poppin' over the cliff? and why did uh.. mike ranquent and ... some other blue-hair dude get kicked out of japan? for those who dont know me, im hard of hearing (i.e. deaf without hearing aids). so help me?

and by the by, that section on Nick Perata makes me cringe badly.

and by the by, that section on Nick Perata makes me cringe badly.

I remember watching that (all 753 times.... - each season) and thinking "what the heck was he thinking trying to go over those rocks like that?" Now we see unathletic kids who think that the world is their playstation try to ride every (un)natural feature and face plant just like Perata because they have no idea what they are doing. :biggthump There's nothing like good entertainment. Who needs reality TV when you have a beginner terrain park outside the lodge?

BTW (on Perata), can you say "helmet"? It may or may not have saved his teeth, but it definitely would have helped with the other head injuries.

Any movie that has kept my stoke going all summer long gets my vote, and there are so many of them.

I still remember some quotes that really stuck with me.

--- Jeff Brushie's rap "Went up to the mountain, there was snow, caught big air like nobody know...."

--- Jean Nerva (I think) "You carve, you carve, you carve, you carve, no slide, even if it's icy."

--- Damian Sanders " Jumping, that's what it's all about."

--- Steve Graham "There's only so much you can really do in a trick, everything is just getting reverted, and landing backwards and maybe another twist on it, but how far can you go? You gotta get upside down." (Boy, he didn't know what was coming. I'll bet he is somewhere enjoying a superpipe and a terrain park today.)

--- Olly North "I shreaded. I was never told not to shread. I shreaded because I thought it was the right thing to do."

Maybe I'll remember more later and post them...just waking up now. Now I'm all stoked to start my day. rock.gifband.gif

Femur - close to death
and also, what happened to damian in this segment when he apparently sunk into a hole after poppin' over the cliff?
Submarined the landing - landed in Farmer's Bombhole, snow from the cliff came and filled it up on top of him - took about 10 minutes to dig him out - but his face wasn't covered so he was ok.
and why did uh.. mike ranquent and ... some other blue-hair dude get kicked out of japan?
Ranquet and Roach - basically got kicked out of Japan because Palmer was ****ing around at a banquet with this toy that launched a rubber frog across the room and landed in the Japanese contest organizer/sponsor's food. They blamed it on "the guy with the Blue/Green hair - at the time,Palmer, Ranquet, and Roach all had various colors in their hair, but the story I hears was that Palmer immediately ran to his hotel room and bleached out the color, so he got to stay and Ranquet and Roach were kicked out of the contest and the country. Typical douchebag Palmer move.
