willywhit
Alpine snowboarders are a small but passionate sub-set of snowboarders that use hard boots, plate bindings and narrow, stiff snowboards to pure carve. almost jacked Ray's Virus thread after seeing the pokkis quiver and watching the new vid on http://flegmatic-carving.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=27 click on episode 2007 for Attack of the Nature low res worked smoother for me than high res sick footage- 1080i HD res would look insane on my big tv silly name great video

pokkis
low res worked smoother for me than high res Willywhit, did you had problem with hi res? what player you used? for me no probs with new media player or VLC (which i recommend and prefer). I assume that you saved it first on disk, cause i believe hi res version is tough call to play directly.
queequeg
Rad! The first snowboard that I ever owned was an Avalanche Kick 165, (saved up all summer to buy it) ... prior to that I had to suffice with borrowing my friend's burton Eliete! willywhit
this may have been posted before but just stumbled over it after watching billy's riser plate vid. Tell a friend, this is a great example for "people seeking the purest carved turns" and "the primary goal of making clean, smooth turns" it's a "freshie" Added: November 10, 2007

Nice torture! who's in highschool? or having a mid-life crisis? that music, seriously, blink 182? how 'bout some green day or barney's greatest hits? Creed? Gheyyyyyyyyyy. this is one of the many reasons alpine is not attractive to the younger set, it has the image of being a bunch of 40+ weekend warriors. Everyone in the video can ride though, good turns guys.

bobdea
Bryan, the riding is fine. I point out that we as a whole look like a bunch of old guys and it's clear by your choice in music. You might not like it and you might feel like I am taking a shot at you or something but that's not my point. You don't think I've put in my time? I did not know it was your video BTW. God, drives me nuts, people see plates and the first thing they think David Hasselhof wants to be cool like the kids.
spil
God, drives me nuts, people see plates and the first thing they think David Hasselhof wants to be cool like the kids. Usually the first thing they say is, "Is that one of them uniboards for curving them slanty snow streets?", but I can't tell what the first thing they think is, because I do not possess the ability to read thoughts like you do, Bob... ...Although, I must agree that Blink-182 is not the best choice for carving music. I'm not saying that it is bad music, just that it doesn't go perfectly with the video. If you really don't like the music that much, you can just mute the video and listen to your own music. Don't let the music ruin a great carving video!!!
willywhit
music can give film or video a different vibe depending on the vibe of the music. That video deserves a better soundtrack.I don't mind Blink182 but Rocket From THE Crypt would be a better choice. See: San Diego punk bands. http://www.aversion.com/bands/reviews.cfm?f_id=3471
dano
who's in highschool?or having a mid-life crisis? that music, seriously, blink 182? how 'bout some green day or barney's greatest hits? Creed? Gheyyyyyyyyyy. this is one of the many reasons alpine is not attractive to the younger set, it has the image of being a bunch of 40+ weekend warriors. Everyone in the video can ride though, good turns guys. The reason this is an excellent video is that it's light hearted, real and showcases a bunch of friendlies having a good time ripping arcs in hero conditions. It really makes me feel like I am there with them. The music is fine...albeit very light...so it doesn't intrude on the video content.. It works fine. It's supposed to be a happy assed carving video and it hits that mark dead on. I couldn't tell you ANY of the songs or band names in the video or why they might be ghey....Who cares? Tell it to some empty-headed music chat board. The music is not the point. At least it's not rap...( I stopped evolving musically in the 80's ) Alpine snowboarding is such an underground fringe sport that I don't know that it HAS an image to the masses...let alone a negative one. Kirk
I stopped evolving musically in the 80's :lol::lol: Yeah me too Dano! After about 1989, things went south as far as I'm concerned. Oh, and I'll be PROUD to join that 40+ club next year Plenty o' RUSH, VAN HALEN, CRUE, DEF LEPPARD and similar on my MP3 player:1luvu: Bryan and the Oregon crew did a GREAT job w/this one...wish I could make this year's OES. Kirk
God, drives me nuts, people see plates and the first thing they think David Hasselhof wants to be cool like the kids. Fortunately, most of this cohort of riders have similar feelings with regard to what the "kids" think...

Kirk
MP3? What's that? I've still got my cassettes!!!Cure, Depeche Mode, U2, I'm sure you're thinking it, yes I had the reverse mullet in the 80's. Short back and sides, down to my chin in the front. Stuck in the 80s. Some of my buddies had that look - big into Punk and freestyle skating. You didn't do the trench coat, Ray Bans and Fedora thing, did you? Then there was BIG hair, muscle shirts w/metal band of choice and parachute pants My tastes ran the gamut. Hard rock, some metal, Cure, U2...plenty of Reggae and Ska even. Still have some of my cassettes and, for a while, had some stuff on vinyl. Unfortunately my last cassette walkman died some years ago :( I just got this MP3 player a little over a year ago (NOT an iPod unfortunately - just a cheapy). Trying to keep somewhat current with the technology We were visiting someone not too long ago and they had a stereo system with a turntable. My son was with me (11 yo) and said "what's that?" Took me a few moments to contain my laughter:D Uh, this went a bit off topic...
