SLC -> Aspen by car

My guess based on driving from Gypsum to SLC many times and the resorts a couple of times would be about 7-7&1/2 hours heading north off I-90 at Green River Utah when driving from Aspen or heading South to green River by getiing off I-15 at Spanish Fork south of SLC when coming from SLC. I forget what the mostly 2 lane highway is called but it is faster than taking I-15 all the way to I-90 or the other way around.

mike..not knowing any secrets or shortcuts I looked on google map and then remembered that when I lived in Steamboat we went to SLC to ride Brighton for a few days with some friends, and drove out the 40. It was an easy drive in march. Clear weather mostly so that could be a factor...

can't be of much help...just been on that road before. not a bad one.

Thanks for the replies.

I was essentially wondering about the difference between 15->6->70 and 40->64->13->70. I figured no way 15 directly to 70 would be fastest.

I enjoy driving on 2 lane roads as long as there are places to pass... my Outback XT is pretty darn good in that department. Also looking to find out how frequently the 2 lane roads are closed when 70 is not.
