Chubz
Anyone know where these builders get their wood, whether it be baltic birch , hard maple or whatever else they decide to make it from? Been searching like a mad man but few hits, and many suppliers of that thickness only go 24" in length. Any help would be sweet. Also, anyone have a diagram of laminate layers and directions based on # of plys. Thx Greg
xxguitarist
i use 1/8'' baltic birch, and get it from the local well stocked lumberyard:biggthump comes in 5x5 foot sheets. that said, they have to special order it for me. when using 1/8 or 1/4 baltic birch, use all long grains, as the ply has its own cross grains. talk to your local lumberyards, and a cabinet maker. Chubz
What kind of price are you getting on those sheets? The one supplier I found is offering their maple at $2.00 per foot and it is usually 10-12" in width.
