Chubz
Just getting into this can someone share their knowledge of the two? Thanks
Gecko
an an equal size and durometer the Gumballs will ride softer and smoother though slower than the Flywheels. The big core that Flywheels have allows them to roll faster and still have grip. Also Fly's are centerset bearings (wheels can be rotated) Gumballs are offset which is good for clearance issues but can't be rotated. Another good choice at the 76mm-78mm size are 77mm Landyachtz Hawgs, center set wheels like Flys but with a smooth ride like the Gumballs. xxguitarist
what gecko said, plus that the gumballs chatter more in a slide than the flys. no real reason to go past the 83mm size though, unless its purely to roll over everything- they're as big as you need for a practical top speed increase. another wheel i've ridden for you to consider is the sector 9 GOS(76mm), its a great wheel with a little more drift than a gumball, for crusing and such, its a little cheaper with zero performance loss. {edit} as gecko says below, 81mm bombhills is also from the quality 'thane. Chubz
Guys What are proper bearing sizes and what do you recommend? Greg
xxguitarist
"608" is the standard size.. but you're best off just going to a skate shop or ordering skate bearings online than finding an appropriately sized machine bearing. few posts down the board : http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=15956 just make sure to get spacers if you dont find biltins:biggthump
Gecko
for all wheels and trucks except for Grizzly's 608 series bearings are standard. I like Powell Reds for the money but I'm switching to Ballistech price point bearings soon.
Civ
its all about bones swiss! Ive been racing on there for a few years and they seem faster and stay faster than most bearings out there. Im really interested in trying out Rons new bearings eventually. Check out some of these boards while your surfing too!. www.pavel-skates.com

Civ
I love the Pavel boards, of course, I am slightly biased, but I think they have been speaking for themselves lately. Super fun guys on the team too!.
