dano Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Do Winds have any forward lean position adjustment other than the "semi-bts" spring with 2 nuts on the back of the cuff? ( Like on raichles?) If they do I sure can't see it. I loved the forward lean adjustments on my 125's but they totally killed my feet. The NOS winds I just got are super comfortable, but it looks like limited adjustments... Quote
cfj04 Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 There should be a lever on the red BTS cover that is a walk/forward lean adjuster. Undo it to set your lean and then lock in postition Quote
bobdea Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 yup, it has four posistions or something Quote
jtslalom Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 dano, I had those exact boots. The only adjustment I found was the same one cfj04 is talking about. I also think that it has four positions. If you lift the back lever up and then lean as far forward as possible then press the lever back again and start to lean the boot back, it will slip into the highest setting of forward lean. The red pair of Burton winds (the last model before Burton discontinued race equipment) had the same exact feature. There were no other adjustments that I know of to that boot as far as forward lean. Good luck Quote
dano Posted January 2, 2007 Author Report Posted January 2, 2007 I was actually able to mentally tackle the walk/ride mode lever....(DOH!) I just saw no magic button to adjust the stops in "ride" mode. ( like the 125's had ) I'm thinking that the Wind might just be "freecarving" boots with fewer adjustment doo-dads than the "race" ( furnace?) model. ( other than spinning the nuts on the top and bottom of the springs ) Actually I just got up off my lazy ass and looked again. I realized you just unlock the walk/ride lever, and push the cuff further forwards...there appear to be 3 hidden holes ( forward lean positions) that the lock can engage, I was just hitting the 1st one. I'll bet my old reactors had this but I never knew. Too bad You just can't set it to got to the 2nd or 3rd hole automatically. Someday I will actually ride them and see where I like them. Thanks Bob. Pow Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Flip up the lever, lean the boot to your liking, flip it down... 4 or 5 positions, but i think the 5th is at an unusable angle or somthing. I had Winds, and just stopped using them yesterday when i switched to deeluxe tracks. off topic, but i noticed through the clear plastic that burton boots have springs under the heels... do deeluxe boots have this too? It doesnt seem like it because my new boots are about half the weight of the old burton boots. Quote
jdgang Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 I have the winds as well...you need to be in your bindings to be able to set the forward forward....and even then you have to guess at which setting you are at. I do not believe they are adjustable but are set a 10 20 30 degrees forward lean. Quote
Derf Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 My Furnace have 3 positions like that, I don't know if they changed it for the Wind though. Quote
