Gleb Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 when I want to leave a buyer negative feedback because they never paid, they would most likely leave a negative in retaliation. Would ebay remove that negative? Quote
D-Sub Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 nope. They only to "mutual" removals. Thing is...if you leave a buyer bad feedback for a legitimate reason, that will be clear. what you should do is respond to the buyer's neg, and also followup to yours to explain. dont sweat the numbers, man. If the buyer/seller deserves a neg, leave one for others to see. If they retailiate, you can simply follow up with "nothing but retaliation" or the like. Quote
Gleb Posted December 31, 2006 Author Report Posted December 31, 2006 it was only for a watch. I ended up selling it for more, but by the looks of his feedback, its the 2nd time this happend. Oh well. Thanks for your help. Quote
Galen Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 I get a non-paying buyer about once in fifty transactions. I've only neged one, he neged me back. Now I just put them on my blocked bidders list and forget about it. The item always sells when I re-list, often for more. Quote
D-Sub Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 I came back to say that its far more important to leave negatives for a bad seller. But at the same time, bad buyers that habitually flake will be banned, so maybe that is important too. Quote
Galen Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 I should have added that I file an NPB to let ebay know and recoup the insertion and final value fee's. So ya, whether you neg or not, let ebay know. Quote
bjvircks Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Is there any way to post a negative to a seller even though the sale moved off of ebay? Then seller got abusive. Quote
wavechaser Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Is there any way to post a negative to a seller even though the sale moved off of ebay? Then seller got abusive. Nope, you're SOL - but if the seller kind of forced you to deal off of eBay you could report that to them I suppose. Quote
bjvircks Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Nope, you're SOL - Yep... classic case of 'caveat emptor' (buyer beware). I tried to get seller to offer item thru ebay's 2'nd chance system ( to protect us both) but seller claimed inability. I was a really trusting ( read as 'gullible') schmuck. Quote
wavechaser Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 You could always tell us here who it was (ebay name) and what you were buying so we don't make the same mistake! Quote
wavechaser Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 I say wait till the last day you can post feedback (90days i think?!?) then give em a frownie. Thatz the point - he can't post feedback because he made the deal outside of ebay. :( Quote
D-Sub Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Thatz the point - he can't post feedback because he made the deal outside of ebay. :( original post, rick thats funny...sneaky as hell, and a good idea. feedback sniping! ebay inspires even more underhandedness! Quote
wavechaser Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 I'm lost here...I'm referring to bjvircks situation above. My fault for not qouting correctly. But feedback sniping huh? Fertile minds here! Quote

Fertile minds here! and ralann was referring to the original post when he said wait and leave feedback at the last possible moment Quote
wavechaser Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 and ralann was referring to the original post when he said wait and leave feedback at the last possible moment Got it...I'm a little slow tonight. Quote
Gleb Posted January 2, 2007 Author Report Posted January 2, 2007 by feedback sniping, do you mean leave feedback exactly 45 days after the auction ended? Quote
D-Sub Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 by feedback sniping, do you mean leave feedback exactly 45 days after the auction ended? whatever the time limit is, yes. That is what ralann is suggesting. Its a great idea, too! filing the non paying bidder alert is FAR more important though. You know how to do that? Quote
Blackbird Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 I say wait till the last day you can post feedback (90days i think?!?) then give em a frownie. I did that to a dude for a mobile phone key pad... Was something like $3 AUD Sent him many emails to which he never replied.. Kinda figured for 3 bucks it really isn't worth it cos of the retaliation.... But waiting till the last moment 90 days from the sale is a good way to avoid retaliatory strikes..... got it down to the last few minutes!! 90 days to the minute... How evil have I become??!!! Quote
Gleb Posted January 2, 2007 Author Report Posted January 2, 2007 I did file the unpaid dispute form and he is now an unregistered user. Any of my other auctions that i'll list i will require immediate payment. one of his 3 positives was "No payment after receiving invoice, no reply to several emails." I guess the guy didn't want to recieve a neg in return. Quote
