Justin A.
"On December 16, Cannon Mountain will be collecting canned goods for a local food pantry. Those who ski/ride that day and provide five cans can ski/ride for only $25. Individuals who wish to just bring up canned goods will receive a discount for a future visit. “We wanted to provide our guests and employees the opportunity to give back during the holidays,” stated Bill Roy, Mountain Manager. “We hope that it will be a successful event.” Collected canned goods will be given to the Good Neighbor Food Pantry, run by the Franconia Community Church of Christ. The pantry provides a three-day supply of food each week for approximately 50+ families. Most of these families live in the greater Littleton area. “The number of children and their families who know hunger in New Hampshire is on the rise. Ski For Hunger contributions will help us to alleviate some of their suffering,” said Pastor Gary Hart of the Good Neighbor Food Pantry in the Franconia Community Church. Cannon Mountain offers 55 trails, 9 lifts, and terrain from beginner to expert. The NH Division of Parks and Recreation, part of the Department of Resources and Economic Development, manages Cannon Mountain. For more information on Kids’ Events or Cannon Mountain Ski Area, visit www.cannonmt.com or call 603-823-8800." I just pulled that off of their homepage. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me especially since you can just get a voucher for a different day (this weekend isn't supposed to be too great in the weather department).
