skategoat
Steep and Cheap has been very good this week. Some great goggle deals and Smartwool clothing. I love/hate SAC. The UPS guy is getting to know me by first name.
Justin A.
Forgive my ignorance, but what's the deal with that site? Could somebody lease explain it to me? Is it like the AMEX gimmick last x-mas where they sell like...15 things at XX:00 for st00ped cheap?
skategoat
Watch the site for a couple of days and see if you can resist buying something. You'll get it.
Randy T.
I'm a total SAC addict. I too lova and hate that site. I had two smartwool buys over the weekend and got those goggles yesterday for a friend in need.
Sinecure
Justin, SAC is the Woot of the off-piste world. Its run by Backcountry.com as an "outlet" for their "outlet" stuff. Its mostly things they have a lot of and want to blow out quickly. Sometimes they'll have small quantities of stuff that they just want to get rid of. Basically they put something up at 50-70% off list and sell it until they run out. It used to be one item a day but about a month ago they switched to "bottomless sac" where they put up a new item when one sells out. If you want to get notified of new items in email, go to www.sacattack.com and sign up. Sacattack will also tell you how many of an item are left and guesstimate at how long it will be up. SAC is a great source for goggles, backpacks, camping gear, BC gear, etc. Just don't expect to see any avy beacons or other high-demand items.
