F2 Silberpfeil vs. Donek FC I

How does the 167 Donek FC I compare to the 168 F2 Silberpfeil (both are '07)? . I'm looking at add a freecarve board this year, and it seems that both boards are very close in spec, with the F2 being a hair longer and a touch wider. Can anyone compare the two for me? I ride on the east coast and only weigh 160 pounds with gear so I am kinda worried about either being too stiff.

Did you look on the Donek Specs Page at the other boards in that same size range. Look down below at the "Race" section where they list every custom board they've ever made. There are some in your size range with softer flexes than the FC (not that I think you'll necessarily want that) and similar waist widths. I suggest calling Sean Martin at Donek, explain what you want, how you ride, what you weigh, etc. Ask him what he suggests. If there's a custom shape that he's made before, it doesn't really cost you any more for a custom board.

I am the proud owner of the FreeCarve 1. Of all the boards I've demo'd, it had the biggest sweet spot for some great short radius turns. But I'm pushing 2, so I'm definitely heavier, but maybe not as good of a rider.

Any chance you can get to SES, or ECES, and you can try them all yourself? That's how I made my decision.

Unfortunately I cannot get to SES nor ECES.

What length Freecarve do you own?

I've got an 168 06 Silberpfeil and weigh 15 -20 more than you. I definately wouldn't say they were too stiff at all. I find it a bit soft esp. in the nose and a bit too damp for me but then I like 12 month old puppy type boards.

Theres nothing really spectacular about these boards. They hold an edge well esp. the tail, they'll release easyly may be too easyly, they don't really need any special type of rideing style though they do seem to go beter with a touch of set back (right on the recomended stance). A really good all rounder but just not snappy enough from edge to edge for me. It is, however, quite a bit more freindly through the park and over a BX course, even with a .5 base bevel, than my Oxy SX BX board.
