LeeW
Looks like a Ribblet to me. Isn't it ?
AMWOOD
I'm pretty sure it's a Yan. I'll have to double check, but i'm 85% sure.
AMWOOD
It is indeed a Ribblet, installed in 1962. http://www.skilifts.org/ca-mammoth.htm
willywhit
dano put up that other thread about old chairs for sale here in boston. Can you guys spot a riblet if i put up a pic ? They may be from suicide six in vt. still not sure. I've always wanted to build a backyard swing out of a chair.
RDY_2_Carve
That's the chairs at Sandia Peak! The damn bar is right down the middle. It's not so bad when you got the chair to yourself though. And NO footrests! Combine that with a 9+ minute ride and you're numb at the top! But the non-existant lines, nice terrain, and having the whole run to yourself kinda makes up for it. :)
AMWOOD
Not sure which chair your asking about @ Suicide, but it may be here? http://www.skilifts.org/vt-suicide.html
willywhit
this is one of the chairs he's selling. He thinks they came from Suicide 6 (great name for a hill and has some real snowboarding folklore) and then he got them through Nashoba( a sorry little par 4 hill just outside Boston). My buddy has a ski house that would be even more stylin' with a chair hanging from the tree. Gotta go take a closer look, pretty sure it's a riblet. Rusty
FYI- If your in the sunapee area down behind the sunbowl chair there is a storage area/graveyard/summer trailhead. There are more than a couple of old double chairs that are sitting there doing nothing. Two years ago when I worked there (before moving to CO) I got the OK to grab a couple. They looked like they were still in decent shape and the mountain was happy to get rid of em'. Might be worth asking... Rusty
dano
Sunapee huh? I'm on it. Thanks for the tip. That reminds me, the Mickey d's up in N. Conway NH has a few booths made out of old gondies. Kinda cool.
