D-Sub Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 I definitely need to start stretching again. hardboots make the grabs just a little harder, no doubt vid is Here (right click "save as" probably good idea) Quote

www.oldsnowboards.com Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 boy. sure are a lot of lurkers on this site. I picture folks huddled around the screen bagging on my riding, gossiping like a bunch of women:D The famous "D-Sub" Prior WCR 185cm for those who just can't get enough details I would love to hear the details (your plan) of how you will increase your DOS (days on snow) from 3 to 50?? We all want to know! Quote
D-Sub Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 somehow I KNEW it would be Bryan who would give me **** first. simple: I will be living near the mountains again. Not sure where yet, but I will. I had a hard year this year. wont go into detail, but to question my love for riding would be silly. and yup, thats the board. I cant WAIT to get a more current WCR odd, you have it listed as a 183. its a fun board. Quote
www.oldsnowboards.com Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 Hey Dave, look forward to riding with you! Actually it is listed as a 185cm. The file names are off. Happens when you are editing hundreds of photos ;) I sincerely hope you can get your sorry Xss up on the mountain next season. Just recall my numerous early morning "Wake Up Calls" to help motivate you?? Quote
D-Sub Posted June 4, 2006 Report Posted June 4, 2006 yeah, you're way too much of a morning person! I got MUCH better at it that season...but ever since I stopped fishing Ive had a hard time getting up early. bed is just too comfortable sometimes. Quote
LeeW Posted June 5, 2006 Author Report Posted June 5, 2006 well, it helps a great deal if you had a lodging that's a stone's throw from the lift, and you could get up and go on the chair with bed hair, and be back in a jiff for a nice shower. had an employee housing in lions' head which was like a block from the gondola. it was sooooo nice. too bad they had to revive the whole village and decimate the building. nevertheless, youre lucky i dont live next door to you cuz i'd be kicking the door with hardboots to say "time to get up. u got five minutes to get on the chairlift." :) Quote
D-Sub Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 300+ views! the social club ladies must be in a frenzy! Quote
D-Sub Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 talkin bout the thread, not the vid. you watched the vid? makes me want to ride. see a couple things Id like to work on. thing is, my riding changes from day to day, week to week, etc... Quote
D-Sub Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I wouldnt go basing anything on watching MY riding though! Quote
LeeW Posted June 6, 2006 Author Report Posted June 6, 2006 say, have you thought about doing tail slide 360? its fun. i do it all the time, just to sharpen up myself whenever im "warming up" for race course practice with team copper. sometimes i would get it all dialed in by going backwards. just a bit more adjusting to do to get accostomed to it. Quote
D-Sub Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 I do watch for things to avoid doing too  :) wanna race? Quote

I look like I might want to? Quote
LeeW Posted June 6, 2006 Author Report Posted June 6, 2006 picked up the tip from some japanese carver 'zine. and thought i'd spice up my riding routine. boy does it add the "fun" dimension. doesn't hurt to suggest one for you, to add to your bag of tricks like poppin' in the air. :) Quote

D-Sub Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 there was a day early in the season when I was riding with a BOLer from AZ and his buddy from Portland... I was on my MLY 167, and I was hitting THE best turns I have EVER made. I felt like I was angulating perfectly, and was getting DEEP into the turns. Crystal clear day, firm snow...was SUCH a BLAST! wish I had vid of that day. I used to feel SO free when we'd have me, bryan, greg, jack, jason and his girlfriend, galen, ed, Tim...man there were some cool folks up there I miss the place. who knows.... Quote
LeeW Posted June 7, 2006 Author Report Posted June 7, 2006 God. I miss living there -- Seattle (Queen Anne for you locals) and Government Camp. I long to return. I need to finish my career ladder in the backbone of the ski industry out in Colorado. It may be possible Ill split my time between the NW and Colorado. Two solid reasons of my longing for the PNW; Diversity of the people and the consistency of snowfalls (minus winter of 04-05). As for tail slide 360, just lean back to shift the weight on the back part of the board, and then slide it nicely around then back to riding after 360 turn or 180 turn to fakie carve. Actually, Ill have to hunt for that magazine and see if I could scan those photo and email them personally to you. How's that? That's if I get around to it. I got my hands full -- school, work and racing motorcycle/working out to get ready for next season snowboard race season. So Ill try to squeeze in the time for it. Quote
