  1. ........ Head had a much wider toebox and fit my feet better overall - I wear Mondo 30.

    Same boat.

My feet measures 29.7mm and 29.2. I could not even get my feet into the next size smaller boot and believe me, I tried!

  2. Buell and RCrobar- You both express yourselves so well! Many Thanks.

Buell, I`m just as bummed as you that you didn`t get onto Thomas`s Dupraz, I`d loved to have heard what you had to say about that in comparison to the Spearhead.

The POGO longboard, is one I`ve drooled over for a couple of seasons now. I think I need some help from you guys with the wife thing, seems you two have got it down pat.....

If you ever want to sell it RCrobar, I`ll be waiting with cash in hand!

Sounds like I can`t really go wrong with any of them. Pogo, Dupraz, Spearhead, They all seem to fit the bill for what I want to do.

  3. A home run would be to hear from someone who has ridden both the Dupraz and the Spearhead.

Just a bump to see if anyone found an answer to the $64,000,000 powder board question.....

I`m thinking one of these boards will be the next addition to the quiver.

Being in Japan it will be impossible for me to demo either so wondering if anyone here has had "feet on" experience?

  4. One thing that they would be very cool for would be a monster dancer I have a 60 inch that easily turns on 180s but thats about the limit for 180mm trucks. Originals would be kick a$$ on something huge like 7 or 8 footer you could still turn it

I`ve got some S8`s that I just kept putting on bigger and bigger boards and now there on a homemade sixfooter,..... Your 100% on the money, the thing turns smaller circles than my Vangaurd.

  5. I just got myself a pair of the Flexmeter Mittens.

I had a nasty crash on my skater about six weeks ago and there was no way I was going to miss the snow season due to some lame injury, so......... Flexmeter Mittens have allowed me to snowboard on regardless of injury. I have of course been fairly carefull but I`ve still had a few crashes where my wrist took a hammering but thanks to the level of support in the Flexmeter wrist gaurds I`ve not even felt it.

    Check out.........

  6. The local Alpine shop that I go to here in Japan has sold out of just about everything this year and normally he is auctioning stuff off on the Yahoo site about this time of year............ Maybe I should get Finn to send me a hundred of the BTS kits and let the Japanese carvers in on the secret ingredient.....

  7. GOTCHA. oops..caps lock.

yup..head, since youre drilling, need two more pins. I think Bomber isnt allowed to even refer to installing them on Head boots, so can't mention the pins. sad.

Bummed! I just got my BTS to fit to my SP`s today and didn`t realize you needed different pins....... although I did specificly ask while ordering......No mention of the subject lead me to believe that I didn`t need them, I didn`t even consider the fact that Bomber would not be allowed to mention anything about fitting them to different styles of boots.

    Laws suck:barf:

  8. Hey Team,

I`m getting into my second year on plates and I`m now at the level where I can carve the easier runs to shreds.

I`m always practising the different types of turns and transitions. The steeps and heavily bumped up snow is still beyond me and I end up skidding more than carving.

I`m riding a Tanker 200 and an LSD 164. Love them both but I`m feeling like they both want to over turn when I push them at the speeds I want to carve at. ie. the arc is just to tight for me if I try to really angulate the board.....

So, I`m looking at the Nidecker 177 from05/06 that our shop has ex demo models of for about $350US.

What do you think? My first Alpine Board.... I`m 77-79kgs. Boots 29.5 mondo Head stratos pros. It has a 195mm waist....

    Thanks in advance.:)

    .

  9. GO Waroo....or Bullaroo.....They are the "BEST" Maybe a speed with the new light weight fabric!!

I have a D1 positive just waiting for enough snow to reveiw it. It sure feels nice...

Those new Speed 2`s just sound like perfect light wind weapons........

Can`t wait to hear what you think of the new D1 plus.

  10. While we`re on the subject of Burtons..... Anyone ever ride the R17 models that I often see here in Japan?

I`ve seen then up to 215mm waists and that would suit my 30 mondos perfectly, I`m just not sure about how stiff they are? I think they might be really soft for the Japanese market but really don`t know.

  11. Shibuya20leer.jpg

Right in the middle of Tokyo city:eek:

It`s a big shock coming from a small Australian surf town but it`s pretty cool.

Every one follows the rules to the letter and you never feel like some bad **** could go down.

The snow is only two hours drive and the Typhoon season brings incredible waves. When there`s no snow and no waves there`s usually enough wind for kitesurfing.

The apartment I live in here is the same size as my bedroom was back in OZ. About 30 square metres. All my boards live on the verandah facing the main road(Surf,Snow,Kite,Skate) and I`ve not had anything stolen the whole time I`ve been here.......:biggthump

The food is one step beyond....... I love it.

  12. I bought myself a Tanker 200 and an LSD, both from Rad Air, because I was in exactly the same situation as you are. I have the same shoe size but I`m alot lighter.

The Tanker is my favourite board ever! 11M sidecut. The LSD is FAST and stiff. 10.5M sidecut.

The only problem I have in hardboots with both boards is they want to turn way to much if I "really" push them even at my weight(180) and limited expirence.

Go for a bigger sidecut....... Or, have a look at the Dupraz D1plus........
