  1. I've got Rulers and enjoy them. I have to tie them up as tight as possible at the top to get good stiffness, otherwise they leave just a little too much space between the tongue and my shin, which can hamper the transition to toeside. Usually run about 40/30 angles on them. w/out any problems.
  2. In my experience, a MAC processor is generally equivalent to a PC processor 80-100% faster. So a 1.8ghz Mac might feel like a 3ghz+ PC. I do a lot of computer rendering at work and at home, and my powerbook (I think its a 1.8ghz) beats the pants off the 3.4ghz PC I use at work. I've always had a PC wherever I work, and have had a Mac for home and when I was in school. Every single PC I ever used always got plagued with errors, malfunctions, viruses, spyware, and stuff I just could never figure out and had to get IT to fix. My Macs have never had any of these problems. The only issue I have with Macs is the lack of software, but that will change once I can afford an Intel Mac.
  3. What are you using for a booster strap? Any specific product?
  4. Those look pretty sweet, I'll check 'em out if I can get them.
  5. Where can one get these Burton Disks? I don't remember seeing them at any generic snow/sports shop around town. The Cetak disks alone are $129 , and I can't tell if their flat or canted.
  6. Are there any cant disks out there for soft boot bindings?
  7. You got to see the semi's?!! All I saw was the two gold metal races, and the second bronze race! How pathetic. All the hype about snowboarding being in the olympics, and that's all we get to see!!! On the brighter side, at least they followed PGS with other exciting Alpine events (and speed skating), and not another hour+ of figure skating. Something tells me thats why Women's PGS may be getting bumped out of tonight's prime time slot.
  8. Looked like the leader in the final race got too much air on that jump right before Seth took the lead. Isn't that the rule of downhill racing, always lift off before you hit the jump to minimize air time?
  9. Man, do I wish I had the vacation time to be out there! That Donek 203cm is a BIG board! Esp. when next to the 154cm in the photo towards the end.
  10. Also says "It uses plate bindings and hard boots for maximum flexibility" And here I thought these were supposed to be stiffer than a soft setup.
  11. After renting for 10+ years, finally got a 165 Atomic Exeter in 2004. Good freeride board. I'm certainly glad not to be renting anymore. Of course, right after I got it I found this site and subsequently learned all about alpine. At least now I know kind of board to get next!
  12. When'd you snap that photo of Rainier? Is that from before the ~27 straight days of rain over Seattle or did it actually clear up for a moment? It always did impress me how big that mtn is. Even though it is farther from Seattle than Hood is from Portland, its just incredibly massive.
  13. That's one of the advantages of a wife that skis, she gives me her poles to propel myself along a flat spot till while she can skate through it.
  14. Didn't know about that one? It locates Mt High right next to Mammoth
  15. I thought I remembered them using IBM chips for a while.
