Was riding out in rural Princeton, Massachusetts last night and ran into the most unlikely person from this forum... right said.... Good time riding last night! JGU

I have a 163 with the texlium top sheet and use Burton Cartels and Burton Drivers set up at 15 and 5 size 27 mondo. I also have a 158 F2 alpine that I ride with 65 and 60 angles. Two different tools depending on the conditions. My board is a lot softer flex than the carbon butterfly initially reviewed. I don't think softboot set ups are appropiate for that deck...but you could do it....Hardboots are the way to go if you have the carbon butterfly. I like how you can take the BX through everything with confidence. I find myself on the BX more often. I can really take all my hardbooting skills and apply it to my soft boot riding and push it just as if as was on my alpine. There is no doubt for me that the Madds are exceptional boards!

I just looked at the top sheet: 171 legth,18cm width, and 11.2m sidecut I bought the board in January 2004 but it was made in September of 2003. The top sheet has a few nicks but the base is in great shape and the camber looks great too. The board got waxed after every use and has never had a base grind. Edges look good too. I have too many boards rather see someone enjoy it. The board is quite fast and really stiff. Quick edge to edge. Great all mountain board for east coast riding. Thanks for the advice everyone! It really helps to have the insider perspective. Last time I was out at Whistler was February 2006 and I just happened to get 4 days of straight sunshine with unbelievable snow. Truely epic conditions! Have a great season! JG
