  1. Love the comments. We can't wait until winter to get some new footage. There will be plenty upon plenty.

We just have to figure out a way to host gigs and gigs of data transfer without breaking our pocket book. Last we checked, there were 437 downloads and I'm sure more by now. That is 70mgs per and we have 25 gigs per month. We can surely up this amount with moolah but at some point, with many many vids up, it will be a bit spendy. We want to keep the resolution up along with maintaining around 30 fps. Mirroring our archives somewhere is one way we've spoken about. We're open for suggestions.

  2. There's always the continuing "I have a really bad feeling about this" . I did like when Obi Wan said to Anakin in the Bar on Coruscent "you'll be the death of me yet, Anakin" or something like that in EpI. I just don't understand why everyone dislikes the new SW. I personally believe you are all a bit wacko. Yes I said it. All of you, and not me.... and especially that Optimus Prime cat. He's off his rocker completely.

But I digress. Wasn't this thread about Batman?

  3. KJL

Of course you hated it. You hated it 3 years before it came out. You have to. It's just you. KJL hates Star Wars...period. I was just waiting for you to say so so I could chime in with this. Dunno who you are but you seem very predictable.

  4. Hello,

I've done quite a bit of mountaineering in the Tetons. It is one of my favourite places on earth. One of my recommended activites would be an overnite stay on Leigh Lake at the base of Mt. Moran.

Rent a couple of canoes from Moose Village, north of Jackson, just outside the Park. Park at String lake, load up your canoes. Paddle north on Sting lake to the land gap between String and Leigh Lake. There is a portage between ( you have to carry your gear and canoes about a Kilometer ) String and Leigh lake but it's pretty painless. It may take a couple of trips to get your gear and canoes accross the gap with kids. Drop the canoes back into Leigh lake and Camp at any one of 4 or 5 sites at the base of Mt Moran. My fav sites are 14a and b. You'll have to reserve these sites at the Jenny lake ranger station. They fill fast for the weekend but you can only hold them for a couple of days so get there early during the day, as soon as they open. Wed. is a great day to reserve the spots.

Good luck and email me if you have any questions about this particular activity.

  5. I'm readin' the book as we speak. It usually doesn't come out till about 2 weeks before the Movie but for this one, it came out real early. Wow!! Really fun. The movie is usually just a bonus for me as I'm in it for the story. It seems that this one will be the exception to Ep I and II rules. I loved them but can see how most wouldn't. I think this one will get better "mainstream" reviews.

2 weeks 4 days and counting!

  6. I'll go ahead and condemn myself to hell here in Utah and talk beer on Sunday.

Just an added note for Utah beer drinkers. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale ( the green bottle ) is usually widely available at our state liquer stores. Like Boulder, it's a buck 25 per so a sixer is $7.50. When compaired to the non liquer store buys ( everything else is 3.2 beer if not purchased in our State Liquer Stores ) at 7 dollars for a six pack of 3.2% beer, it's a hellava deal. It's also one of my fav's if you like a beer heavy with Cascade hops.

Also as a side note to Mark's post, Samual Smith's also makes a Nut Brown Ale that is out of site! Exactly what I thought when I stumbled upon the brand though, Mark. ( This is made in England? Skunk capitol of the world? )

  7. Looks like I'm tryin' to take a dump standin' up!!

Fin was accurate on the final damage toll. I have Surg. fri on the Tib Fib. Got sqeezed on skier's left by some touron's and ventured right a bit for turns. I didn't take enough space into account for mistakes however. Did get some brakes on before collision but Aspen aren't very flexible, unfortunately. Looks like about 12 weeks recovery time total with the Tib Fib. Should be able to get a bit done on the site in that time and ther'll be some thinkin' time for next years season, getting things shiny and new. Thanks for all the well wishers and we'll see you in the fall when the snow flies again!!

  8. What a response we've had. There is quite a buzz about about carving in general in the snow sliding community whether it is a freestyler inquiring about plates or the hard-core skier that wants to try snowboarding but thinks that "tricks are for kids". The SES really has propelled us into trying to make this another demo galour for the long time alpiner and the first timer alike.

Sooo.. in response to the previous post, the WTC has been in place for awhile, the dates have been solidified for less than awhile with my new twins and knee surgery, but it has really evolved into quite an event within the past couple of weeks. I hope you can make it out next year and apologize for the apparent short notice. The Almanac says that this time of year is very carvy carvy/ high pressure so stay tuned for next years' dates to be posted sooner than later.

I have to say that Fin's interest in attending has probably the biggest factor in the inquiries we've gotten outside of Utah. There are so many logistical matters that we never took into consideration before as the first Annual WTC was just a meeting of metal edges at a snowboard shop and subsequent lift over 4 days. To have an physical space with gear demo has been very interesting to set up with the resorts to say the least. I take my hat off and have new found respect for the back end job that Michelle and Fin take on to put up the SES. Thanks so much for their guidence in this.

Can't wait to see you all on Sat!! (or sun, mon tues)

We'll bee meeting just east of the first time and Eagle Lift Beginning Sat at Park City. There will be a blue tent just up from the Eagle lift parking lot. If you don't know were this is, just ask a parking attendent or any PC employee. Snowbasin plot has not been solidified as of yet so check here, at the Bomber forum for a post on that. Should know no later than Fri.

Email me with any questions, concerns or suggestions.

  9. BeeEEEEeeeR.....

Beer always goes a long way, especially in this state, as you know. The thicker the better.

We'll model Bomber SES system somewhat. There will be an index card representing each individual piece of gear that goes out and we'll attach your liscence to it. Sounds like your first born will be on the slopes so I guess that's out....

  10. A friend of mine has offered a condo at discount. It is at the Canyons Resort which is about 10 minutes from Park City Mountain Resort. It will sleep 6-8 people. 3 bedroom, 2 bath. Normally $250/night. He's offered it to WTC for 175/night. That's really cheap if someone can get some people together.

Here is the link to the condo

contact info is Skate April at 1-888-753-8574

    I'll help coordinate if needed.

  11. Hey guys and gals,

The 2nd annual WTC, Utah's carving session, is here. We're scheduled to be at Park City Mountain Resort Sat, Sun and Tues, 5, 6 and 8 March respectively and Snowbasin on Monday the 7th. The weather is shaping up nicely for some great “trench diggin’”. A high pressure system has been in place for about a week now and looks like we’re going to continue to have some sunny bluebird Utah carving.

There’s a signup page here http://hardbooter.com/wtc/ This will give us an idea on #’s and also put you on the roster for the Snowbasin Discount ticket.

Bill and I will have boards from our collection to demo. We have a Madds, F2, Rad-Air, Catek and a size run of Raichle’s for those potential converts.

Fin will be out on Mon and Tues to ride and set up shop for demo as well. He will of course have Trench Diggers for demo and says he’s bringing a truck full of other goodies, I imagine some of the same lineup as SES. Thanks Fin for the sticky thread BTW.

Post here for comments, questions, ideas etc or you can also email:

    mike@hardbooter.com

    billy@hardbooter.com

    dave@hardbooter.com

We also have a bunch of new pics up in our gallery so check em’ out!! We will forever be trying to catch up with Scott Firestone. What an effort Scott!! Thanks!!

All for now. I’ll be updating here AND over there for the WTC. See you there!!

    Dave

  12. Yea Jack,

We're soooo there. That's if there's not another set of twins in the picture. ( unless it's them blonde twins from that Coor's comercial that is... then we're doubly there my friend. )

Gene Simmons has got the tongue, Fin... and Whitesnake? Next year we'll have to have a classic metal jepordy session at the banquet.

As for you Ray, I dunno what to say except Ace is a hero on the strings as you are on the snow.

    Later
