  2. All boards have been stone ground once. The priors have had ~2-3 days on snow each since then (they were bought as demos and ground at the factory). The donek has had ~8-10 days on snow since then (it was ground between the first and second seasons I had it). The donek was bought new at the beginning of the 03-04 season. The priors were bought as factory demos at the beginning of the 04-05 season. None of the boards were ridden at all during the 05-06 season. Specs: Donek is 21.5 waist, 11 sidecut, built for a ~220lb rider Priors are stock stiffness, 19.5 waist 161 has a 10m sidecut 185 sidecut has worn off topsheet; stock is 14m and I believe this board is also.

  5. in our division's uscsa gs races last week, the good skiers were running 36-38 seconds, while the winning boarders were around 47-49 seconds. this was in a skier-set gs course with ski gates; the softboot majority was around 58 seconds. i'll let you know how our times compare for slalom after our race this weekend.
  6. there are two college ski/snowboard races there tomorrow, so whatever the racing trail is will probably be closed almost all day. im heading up for practice tonight to prepare for them. ill be on a black donek axis today, and a big red prior wcr tomorrow, so come say hi if any of you are there.
  7. sounds like our first paractices/race there this week should be fun....any tips on how to save my boards from destruction?
  8. it should be possible, assuming fin eventually gets spare parts in (too many of us want the whole binding!) having just the rear foot as a step-in is a great compromise, lots of us did it with the td1s when the stepins came out.
  9. the renntiger gs boards seem to be spec'd more like freecarve boards than true gs boards, the sidecuts are too short for real gs racing. that said, my first carving board was a renntiger gs 168, and it was a lot of fun to ride, and a good beginner's board, i would think.
  10. i'm heading up with some skier friends when school lets out for winter break, from the 17th to the 20th. is anyone else planning on riding those days?

  12. from a rough measurment, the board has about 2cm of camber on it. since it has only had about 15 days on snow, i have no reason to think that's any less than when i bought it new. thinking about it, it may actually be an 01-02 model. its from the last year before they switched to the tiger topsheet graphic.
  13. sorry, no pics. i'm pretty sure the specs haven't changed from mine to this year's model. the only ones i remember are a 19.5cm waist and an equivilent sidecut radius around 10.9m. black+yellow topsheet, black base with yellow logo.
  14. i had the same problem with my stratos pros when i bought them last year. for me, a combination of custom footbeds and hee lifts stopped the problem. i would suggest going to a good bootfitter over returning the boots, the size sounds right.
  15. sorry, i'm also a first-year uscsa racer, but princeton has a fairly large team (about 20 snowboarders) so i'll try to ask some of them at our next meeting; just let me know if there's anything else you want me to find out
  16. not that i like it, but i usually find my self drinking either beast or 151.
  17. while i can't tell the difference just standing on the board, it becomes apparent after a few runs whether i'm at the appropriate cant angle. i usually run 6f/6r, at 3f/3r, it becomes almost impossible to ride after what seems like a rediculously short period of time. but initially stepping on the board, i would have no idea it was any different.

  21. sorry nmu, no advice from me. im in a similar situation, joining princeton's team for my first racing experience. luckily, we have on-hill training before races start, though. so to add to his request, does anyone here have experience with mountain creek's coaches or gate set-up? thanks to everyone for making this forum such a great resorce for us beginners.
