  1. Heavy???? Bullett-proof???????? Ideal for shorter race events?????? Huh?

Here's my comment, the Physics are a OK binding set up. I personally ditched the speed hook set-up. It's a good idea, but for me it was too stiff. Also I seemed to break less boots riding with the bail option. If you have the ones with a simi-clear blue base plate DO NOT ride them, the plastic is very weak and WILL break. If you have these contact me I have extra black plastic baseplate covers that are much stronger. If you choose to ride with the speed hooks be carefull on snowy days, make sure both sides of the hook is engaged while stepping in.

On a side note if there are any Physics riders out there that need parts or extra bindings. I have tons of stuff. I've recently been thinking about selling all my physics stuff and getting a pair of F2 bindings. I have several complete bindings and extra parts I'd be willing to let go for the right price which wouldn't be that much.

I do have the boots (Winds) that are the clear blue plastic baseplates..email me at jdgang@gmail.com for those other bottoms and replacement parts. I did see another pair of Winds (black/red) on ebay today....have to ask the wife I have not decided yet which to use bails or speed. I was going to try them both. As for snowy days I was most likely going to switch back to my race plates or bails/physic...Thanks for all the input guys it seems that they are not a bad setup and since I am not that aggresive or big they should last a few season until I can get bombers/cateks

  2. Vernon is about 1 hour from NYC...small mountain a little crowded on the weekends but as long as you are there at 9am you can get a good couple of hours in....Two or three good carving runs....Hunter is close as well its in upstate off the throughway maybe 1 1/2 from the city

  3. the setup came with both....didnt know about the speed when I bought them...thanks for the input....and you put my mind at ease with the term bullet proof...I didnt really know how they worked until I saw them...didnt think friction could be such a friend.

  4. Just got a pair of physics binding that a bought here on BOL. To my surpise in the box where the parts for the front hooks to turn the into the speed physics. anybody have any comments/problems/or reviews of the these....first thing I noticed after retrofitting my boots with them that there is no side to side slop...any comments would be appreciated

  5. The LEAPIN LIZARD 171 Donek FC1 was posted for sale on BOL classifieds and it didnt sell the the owner put it up on Ebay (not my board). If I didnt know better I would think that the seller planted this thread to sell the board for the highest price possible (doesnt everyone want to sell things for the most $'s on Ebay?) But in fact the seller has nothing to do with this thread it seems like BOL is a self prepetuating advertising machine for Ebay. As soon as it hits the BOL classified the posts generate the interest and redirect the viewers to the Ebay auction.

You are right I am not the seller of the board....as for the posting I believe I was doing to as a benefit to the people of BOL..for those people who might only have the time to go to BOL and not do a full search on ebay..I have purchase many an item from eBay (carving related and not) and BOL and both have come through for my carving addiction...over the course of 1 year I have pick up 2 boards 1 binding and 2 boots...all for great deals... I hope to one day own a board like that or similar and the only places I go for it is BOL or eBay

  6. if you wait for the deals they do come--case in point myself so far all pieces of equipment used but in excellent condition

    boots size 27

    reactors--60$

    winds--70$

    bindings

    race 100$

    step in race 115$

    boards

speed 160 125$ brand new (thx ebay)

    fp 167 150

altogether 620 for two complete setups...you just have to have faith

oh yeah to answer the first question I plan on checking out my fish with plates but I would never ride plates on any of my "true" freestyle boards

  7. height? weight? shoe size? board? type of mountain you ride? Style of riding? I ride duck 51/54 and I find it the most comfortable. this year I plan on changing my stance/angles every time I go out to see if there is something better. play around with them until you get dialed in

  8. I am coming a little late to this thread but I have to say it's one of the best post ever.....I sold a few things on BOL and have never got a picture back like that but then again I sold to all outies so I dont think I would want one....If we had more people like her involved in our niche of this sport I think Burton would start making boards again

    :smashfrea

  9. Friend of mine runs a skate shop in town, he tells me the skateboards are darn near a loss leader - he makes all his money in clothes and shoes. He might make $5 selling a $70 deck, but his profit on the fashion is probably over 100%. He also tells me that only 5% of people buying skate shoes actually skate in them.

When I went to go get my shield jacket the guy at the local shop logged into the dealer section of the website...Price for shop 145$ price to me (msrp) 290$ markup 100%....and they (burton) didnt even have any in stock

Makes me chuckle when I read this kinda stuff.

Read the article this part was the best IMHO

Alpine snowboarding is generally done on hard packed snow or groomed runs. Hard packed snow usually isn't good for snowboarding but is exceptional for high speeds, the heart of alpine snowboarding. With other styles of snowboards maneuverability is impossible on this type of terrain. Thanks to the aggressiveness of the edge of the alpine snowboard, fast, snappy control is the least of your problems.
