  1. Thanks, BlueB. I'll have him shoot you an email to the address on the e-flyer above.
  2. Hi Boris, My buddy is interested in a lesson. Is there gear to rent or borrow around Cypress? Traveling from Seattle, for reference.
  3. Hey Warren! Man, great to hear from you again. Hope the Swoard is working well for you. It has definitely been a solid year thus far for the powder boards! (I have a big-nosed Donek in the hopper....) All, thanks for the advice. I remembered that there used to be lessons at Crystal or Cypress, but those days might be past. My buddy is new to moving past skidded turns, so I think I'll keep hunting around for someone who can give him some pro tips, but may reach out later in he season for some of the aforementioned gear. Cheers!
  4. Hahaha! That's just plain fun looking. My only wish is that it showed you passing some people riding more---umm---traditionally, and their confused looks.
  5. Hi all, My friend is looking to try hardbootin'. I sold my hard boot setup (softie carver now) so I'm not much help. He is a size 10ish boot. He is interested in getting a lesson from someone who can loan/rent him gear in the Seattle area. Any good places to start looking for this type of option?
  6. Sorry, folks! Dropped it off today. The board is gone!
  7. Selling my 175M Swoard. Great board, superb condition. I rode it 4 days (and only for about 2 hours each time). Need more of a Bx style board. This thing is like a Ferrari, though. I’m in Seattle. If you can do a local pickup, I can drop the price. PM me for details. $410 shipped in the US. I would have to get a quote for Canada. I have not needed to sharpen the edges. They are still razor sharp, and I am a sharp edge maven. They have plenty (!) left in them. The board has no significant damage. Normal wear. Tons of camber, great profile. I’ve never let the base dry out, and I stored it in a good climate, never in the heat. Selling because, as noted, I've moved toward a Bx/Freeride board. Would be interested in a 168 Kessler "The Ride" trade scenarios. Just don't tell my family. This is board number 13 in the house...so selling is preferred. 8. Is that correct that it is 31 at the waist? I'm not a bx expert but that seems like a really shallow difference between tip and waist?
  9. I'm out on the boots, probably not exactly what I'm looking for. Happy hunting!
  10. Prretty self explanatory... I'm looking to size down a touch to a 28.5. Maybe would even try a 28. I'm in a 29.0 323 now but have a bit of extra room. i live in Seattle, if anyone happens to be near me.
  11. I third the Sensor by Smith. I have used Red and Blue Sensor. Both are excellent.
  12. I'll sheepishly admit I did not do the norms, but I will. The hill was REALLY crowded until night, and then it was rutted so I was spending a lot of time just feeling out the board. (I switched to my "normal" board after about 3 Swoard runs in the morning.) In the evening I did do some work similar to the norms, but I didn't dedicate the time to it. I was just having a blast carving that sucker. So fun. When I stand my feet are outward a little bit. I have some tension in my piriformis that I've never been able to fully work out. When I have my splay too low I get pain in the outer left of my front foot and feel like I am pushing outward significantly with my knees, specifically the rear. This is pretty similar to how it is on my all-mountin soft-boot board. So I *think* going too close on the binding angles is not going to be comfortable for me. But I am new to this genre, so I know I don't know what I don't know. The "weird" is just that I feel like my weight isn't equally distributed and I am mainly on one leg. The front, specifically. I went to 57/45 and at that angle it feels to my untrained legs like maybe a touch of toe lift on the front might help get me a little more centered. But I'm not sure. I feel like I am really pressuring my front quad with these angles. If the toe life would indeed be beneficial, how might an enterprising new-carver go about buying a toe lift that is compatible with the Burton bindings? I was looking at the EC stuff so I was under the impression that flat was ideal. I know, I know....something on the internet isn't 100% accurate?!?!?!?!?!! Say it ain't so. And yes, the waist is 23sm. With a tape measure on the board like 10 times to check various things you'd think I would have checked that. As for my snowsport history... I've snowboarded since 1990. I've actually wanted a carving board for a long time, but just moved back tot Wa and stepped up to the plate (pun intended). Finding this website was the ignitor for that fire. I'm a pretty descent all mountain rider, backcountry and in bounds both. I'm not awesome at all in the park. I can hit the L (not XL) pro-lines, but methods are about as much as I do. I have downhill skied twice, mostly because my wife (skier) wanted to watch me look like a goon on the hill. Haha. I've also cross-country skied some. My dad is a XC racer, so I started that when I was young. I prefer the gravity method of propulsion, though. BlueB, I see you are an instructor in Vancouver? If I can get away from here for a day I'll need a lesson for sure.
