  5. Selling my Coiler 172 All Mountain, 21.5" waist, built for 160-170 pounders. Bought directly from Bruce back in 2003. Saw a few seasons of use, but it's been in the closet since 2008, so it's time to move on. Comes with TD2 step-in bindings and 2nd board kit (the kit is new and in original packaging. *New item listing pre-approved.*) Also comes with Bomber board sleeve. Items in Vancouver, BC. US$300 for the package, plus shipping. (May take a week or so to ship if you're in the US, til my next trip over the border. If you want shipping immediately from Canada, I can look into that, but it's likely to be costly.) See photos here: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/awro6z3pvx3bkae/AAAPMRrtMeimHM7gEYnmHGC8a
  6. another email sent--get in touch if you're still having trouble with your email. bomber at forwardmovement net
  7. Hey all--back on the board finally! Considering heading to Whistler early tomorrow morning but looks like it might be socked in. Anyone else heading up there? Was up at Snowperformance carve camp in Kamloops earlier this month; very useful and I was impressed with my first time at Sun Peaks. Nice hill and not at all crowded. k
  8. I've been using No Gomers. Very stiff and protective. They fit over the gloves, so my main complaints are that they can accumulate snow in the cracks and it's one extra layer of stuff to deal with every time you need to do anything with your hands. Otherwise happy with them. I need them done as idiot wristguards or something, because I can't seem to keep a set around for more than a few months. Available at reliableracing, except they say out of stock. I had luck calling Auclair directly.
  9. missed you today boris, didn't get to the hill till about 5. very nice conditions today, certainly a sight better than yesterday's total white out, har har. seriously, after a couple of nice runs the clouds rolled in and in about 10 minutes i couldn't even see the chair ahead of me on the lift, and on the hill people would suddenly appear out of nothing directly in front of me. like riding in limbo. tonight was beautiful, though, and the crowds really thinned out about 6. picking up my snow legs again!
  10. Work ending early today, and I'm heading up to Cypress. Be riding the bunny hill for a few warm-up runs by 1600, then probably Collins (hey, it's my first day this season). May also be there tomorrow afternoon from 1600 (I have a nighttime pass). Anybody else planning to be around? K
  11. absolutely amazing day. managed to hang on till 4 when i was sure i'd drop out early due to failing health. the ride out was particularly nice. hope to see you all again soon. so, thanks to Boris for getting us all up there! k
  12. I have one space available, leaving Saturday about 6:30. email/pm me and i can give you my cel. k
  13. Ride board: It turns out the friend I was planning to head up with can't make it, so I can either catch a ride with somebody or take one person up in my car, leaving from commercial drive area early saturday. I'd like to get up there around opening to get some practice runs in before the meet up. Anybody need a ride or have space? k
  14. heal fast boris! take it easy for a while and review with your physio. we need you in top form in two weeks! k
  15. I'll be there! I may even go up Friday if the weather is nice and I can get out of work. My car can only take one other person if the backseat is used for gear. I'm at 11th & Clark. Parking at creekside is much better, but bringing multiple boards up & down the hill from there would be a pain (transfer to a chairlift before reaching board storage). The village gondola lets out right by the board storage, but then it's $2 each time to retrieve. k
  16. OK folks-- Saturday, March 4, has been proposed as the date of the inaugural WES! Feedback?
  17. I seem to have missed seeing this thread for a while. We've got a regular convention here! Maybe we can do a Whistler invasion one day to overcome our local mountain allegiances... I'll be there Monday! (With a skier, though.)
  18. ok--i'm up there tonight! meeting a friend at the bottom of the chair for collins at 7:30 - 7:45 K
  19. well, that makes at least three of us at Cypress! No, that wasn't me. I'm the guy skidding out on a coiler (when i'm not snowplowing down a choppy part sideways, that is) I try to get up whenever I can--maybe tonight if I can get out of work in time. got a night-timer pass so I can run up any evening I have time. That's only been once to Cypress so far this season! :(
  20. I have a night pass to Cypress. Novice carver, but I keep plugging away at it. Very rare to see anybody else on alpine gear around here! K
  21. Just got a list email from Dan Yoja--apparently the UPS boots that never came in last year are finally in stock.. Anybody know what's up with the name change?--any experience with these boots? His site is now at upzboots.com
  22. my new favourite. the bottle beats draft guinness. not as bitter, more... nutty? fruity? good, anyway. if we can get it even through the government liquor maldistribution here in BC, you should all be swimming in it down there. some brewer or other's double chocolate stout is also a great drink...
  23. not sure if i'll be up there next week, but i believe a group sometimes meets at the top of garbanzo chair on whistler wednesday mornings (10ish?)... on the run immediately off to the right.
