    What about "totally tubular"?

Heard: Does that ride like a snowboard?

    Said: It is a snowboard.

Heard: But does it RIDE like a snowboard?

    Said: It IS a snowboard...

...then we discussed it more. He seemed to be confused mostly by the higher binding angles.

  2. The foot-fit of each manufacturer is so different, you should first determine which line fits your foot better, and then decide upon the model.

After that, the ATB is a bit of its own thing in the UPZ line, and the Track 700 seems to be in its own class in the Deeluxe line.

The other models might be comparable in spirit but I could not trade them due to the fit and feel differences.

  3. Back to Keystone - 12/26 to 1/5. From what I see, I guess we need to bring the rock boards :(

What was open last weekend didn't have too many rocks or grass protruding but it's been warm so it was slightly slushy-soft on top of hardpack. Due to the limited runs open, any trace of cordouroy is gone quickly. A-Basin had less open but better surface, except for multiple hidden ice boulders scattered about.

This turned into a cool thread. The Tanker sounds intriguing.

Back to the original question - no but close. I have an Avalanche Tom Burt board (actually 2) that I love. The numbers look the same. It is great for wind packed powder days above treeline and very good for other powder. It's fairly stiff and will also hold a decent softboot carve (can I say that? ;) ) on the groomers. If the angles look good, I'll try it in the bowls/powder days with my new hardboot setup. Some powder days I ride a softer wider board with a bigger scoop on the tail (an old model Avalanche Classic) - esp deep tree powder.
