  1. I'm new to this site, but every carver I talk to can't say enough about it. I'm looking for size 29.5 any one out there? Thanks
  2. The weather finally looks good. I've had lessons booked with Erick Beckman for almost a month, but everytime I schedule them we get an incredibly cold weather system move in. My lessons are from 930 am until 1130am. If anyone was going to be there that day keep an eye out for me, wouldn't mind meeting some new people. I've got a blue Prior 4WD, thanks, Sean.
  3. I'd really hate to postpone the trip, I had to convert the temps to celcius, -22 isn't too bad if its not windy. I spoke to someone at the hill and they said that I could take the lesson at a later date if its too cold, since I've already paid for it, I was just really looking forward to the trip. I'll make up my mind tomorrow.
  4. jeffnstefanie, i may move my trip up one day(wed), if they let me at the hill, its supposed to be warmer on wednesday, so I might try to be there then. I don't know how many alpine riders there are around, but I have a blue and grey north face jacket and a blue Prior 4WD. I'll be the fellow doing 'the norm' down Tote road, my name is Sean, I'll keep an eye out for you. Orser, I usually ski at Poley, I have a season pass, (i'm from saint john) but Crabbe isn't out of the way. A friend of mine from work lives in westfield and usually rides at crabbe, I'll get in touch with you in 2 weeks time maybe, I work shift so I'm available in the middle of the week.
  5. I'm making the trip to Sugarloaf from eastern Canada on this coming thursday for some private lessons with Erik Beckman. I booked 2 hours with him in the am. This is my first year with the alpine board and there isn't anyone at the local ski hill that I can get advice/lessons from. Just wondering if any one else was going to be in the area for the day. I'm only going to be there for the day, it's a five hour drive each way, but I wouldn't mind meeting up with some others.
  6. I received some feedback on UPS World Cup boots, which are available in Canada. How do they rate against the Deeluxe Lemans, price would be about the same for me(not counting duty). I didn't like the look of the bindings available from the supplier compared to the TD2s.
  7. Thanks, I appreciate the feedback, to answer one of the questions, I bought my board direct from Prior, it was slightly used(twice) and got it for 575.00 canadian, instead of 750.00. Seems like a good deal. Their boards were recomended to me by the olympic snowboarder, Mark Fawcetts, father, I bike with him, and he rides as well. I didn't realize that the cant adjustment was separate from the binding itself, I thought that you ordered the binding with whatever degree you wanted and that was it, so for the extra cost I might pick up a couple of adjusters(or whatever you call them). I also found out that a local ski shop is set up to thermo mould the boot liners, so if those ones fit better than a reg liner maybe I will spring for the Deeluxe Lemans instead of the Raichle Bomber has avail. I did look at the UPS website. Boots look good, I just haven't heard of them before, are they just as good as Raichle/Deeluxe? Thanks again, I appreciate the response, no one was ever this helpful on the bicycing.com community.
  8. hey all, I need some expert advice. I just bought a Prior 4WD and now need to find some boots and bindings. I can't get anything locally but don't mind ordering over the internet. I'm just not sure about boot sizes. Normally I take a size 10.5(US) which I guess translates to 28.5 mondo on charts I've seen, but if I measure my foot as they suggest on the bomber site than I'm a 27. I tried on some ski boots today at a local shop, the nearest size they had was a 27.5, it seemed snug. The Deeluxe boots don't have half sizes, so should I just get the 27 because the liner should pack in some right? I was going to get the TD2 bindings, I know its a matter of preference, but I wouldn't mind hearing comments on standard vs stepins, and if someone could make a recomendation on the degree of cant for the bindings I would be eternally greatfull. I know its up to personal preference, and I'll be new, but I wouldn't mind growing into the setup, I know this is alot to ask for with feedback, but I would be very appreciative, thanks all.
