  1. I'm 5'6 and 160. I ride the frs fairly aggressively. Side by side the coil seems to be more flexy than the frs and that's what's got me stumped I guess. In my mind the coil is for carving, but its not as stiff as the frs is. Just doesn't seem to make sense to me. Maybe it's the length? My coil is a 156 and the frs a 160.
  2. so yesterday i went up to hunter mountain to get some weekday runs in. ended up hanging out with one of the instructors there who was riding a hardboot setup. after spending a good chunk of the day with him, i was thinking about giving it another shot. i broke my shoulder back in 2004 on plates and got skiddish after that. i have a burton coil 156 stashed away in my closet. (my regular board is a salomon frs 160), so the question is, should i be riding plates on that board,(the coil) or is that more of a soft boot ride?
  3. looks like they dont make the nxt-frx anymore. im intrigued by the design of the flow bindings, what's the most current incarnation of the frx?
  4. Current setup: Salomon frs (160) Burton driver boots Burton cfx bindings Was thinking of upgrading my bindings to the 2013 salomon caliber a but no one local sells them, which leaves online as the only purchase option. Normally I would look to bring my boots to the shop to make sure they fit properly. Since that's not an option I figured I'd turn to you guys for advice. I know most of you ride plates and hard boots but I was hoping someone might have knowledge about the caliber binding and the compatibility of the driver boots with the salomon bindings. Thanks everyone!
  5. I ride 39/27, burton cfx bindings, on a salomon frs, with burton drivers.
  6. no one mentioned it, so i figured id chime in. Ive been riding burton drivers for years already. nice and stiff, no complaints. i dont know if they still make them anymore, you may be able to get left overs for cheap if you look. scott
  7. anyone going up to hunter mtn tomorrow?
  8. i ride 39 front 27 rear in softies. i find it to be very comfortable. i tried duck briefly when i first learned how to ride, and it was REALLY uncomfortable for me.
  9. Love my burton drivers. had them for a few years now, still ride like they are brand new.
  10. i saw a special on this on tv a while ago. apparantly there is some sort of growth regulator in the genes of the male of one, and the female of the other. so, when you crossed the opposites (the ones without the growth regulators) it causes the cat to be abnormally large. i dont think that means it will grow forever though.
  11. go get checked out by a doctor. he'll perform a series of tests, and quite possibly an MRI. do it ASAP, the longer you wait, the longer the healing process if it is in fact a torn rotator cuff. last year i broke my shoulder right where the cuff attaches to the bone. it healed, but its still not 100%, and i took care of it right away. good luck
  12. I still ride soft boots, although i dont consider myself to be stupid by any stretch of the imagination. I can carve pretty well in them actually, and im still working on my transition to hard boots. IN any event, im riding a Salomon frs, which i absolutely love. its a pretty stiff board, not sure you'd want that for teaching. I also have a salomon fr 400, which i think would be a little better/more comfortable in a slower teaching type situation. My boots are burton Driver's which are seriously stiff for soft boots, very supportive. Search ebay, you never know. I bought my FRS for about 120 bucks shipped, which was a steal. The board was hardly ridden. I wish they still made those, that whole series rocked.
  13. me neither lol........i got attacked by myself not bending at the waist and pulling something in my back.......filling up the humidifier of all things. i will be there this weekend for sure though. time is running out, i need to get my days in.
