  1. One of these days I'm gonna take a leaf rake to rake all the racing skis and poles kids leave around into a nice pile for them at the top and bottom of the chair. Or else I'd murder someone.
  2. Just wait until they stop blowing and start grooming!
  3. That is very cool, a few years ago when I just got my first backcountry setup I was looking for places with enough snow cover and vertical to practice, and after doing some research Pine Bluff was my choice of the slope in the whole metro area. Glad to know my research was justified! I ended up just asking ski patrol at Buck Hill nicely and they kindly allow us to skin up and down a couple runs and asked us a lot of questions about touring.
  4. 1/3 Met Joe subbing for G-team on a cool vintage F2 rocket shaped board. Joe made carving shitty snow look easy! @bobble Joe said hi. Buck hill decided to shoot rusty yellow snow probably laced with urea in the middle of the busiest hour. Apparently from what I can tell there was also zero communication, since D-team spent 20 minutes laid out some gates, immediately Buck started shooting yellow snow all over their course, then they started to pull the gates again before anyone even got any runs in. It was hilarious to watch. I feel for the coaches. Had two runs with Leo then went home with my son.
  5. So "snow"boarded with hard boots today with Leo. We looked like two clowns. Really just Iceboarding. I'd take a solid sheet of ice over this BS any day.
  6. Condition Wednesday night was pretty good, a little bumpy in spots but can hold edges well. Plan to come again Friday before it rains, then take a break until night temperature are low enough to make snow again. An inch of rain over the weekend is no joke...
  7. Bob, that'll be Leo, he relocated from Colorado to train with G-team. Conditions sounds tough, I'll be there this afternoon with my son, looks like it might be park time for me. Still on the fence though, I may take both setup with me.
  8. I was on skis until around noon then switched to alpine board for some great carving. Afternoon was nice, surprisingly not many people, and had a blast just making deep deep ruts. Too bad we needed to leave early for hockey practice. Sorry we missed ya. Met Erik and saw his extreme carving from the chair and it was nice! I'm worried for tomorrow. May the rain have some mercy on us and keep the precipitation low.
  9. Just wanted to say I appreciate all the condition updates and it helps me a lot on being informed on what's going on on the hill. Thanks bobble.
  10. Looks like it snowed and they didn't groom? Noooooo....
  11. Planning on being there 9am Friday to catch last warm day before the North Pole relocates itself... Hope the snow would be okay.
  12. Seriously on the lifties. I know the guy who barely touches the chair. But worse, there was a guy who was genius enough to figure out by using the slow button for EVERY chair he can get away by not touching the chair. As a result the ride uphill is twice as long and you get carsick from the constant slow-fast-slow-fast. On Sunday we also saw lifties in the top hut completely oblivious and didn't see a kid failed to unload. He was about to ride the chair back down until a skier took notice and threw the emergency bar over to stop the lift. Snow wasn't so great since the rain and I fear for the upcoming cold spell.
  13. Sounds good, I'll be there most of the Sunday mornings for the race. See you guys soon.
  14. Nice to meet you bobble and scuff. I'm the guy with a black and white top Donek. Sorry was in a hurry to the ski challenge(NASTAR) race with my little one. Will be glad to ride together soon!
