  1. snowboard don't matter, but commitment does, that's why 95% people don't know how to ski or snowboard, even if they have advance gear, I will say, don't buy too stiff or too long board, because it will hold you back, normal all mountain board is more than capable for carving and EC, I have Eliminator wc titanial, 24 cm waist 154 cm, and with 43 EU size softboots, I don't boot out at 30 21, WTF 28 or more waist , best board I ever had, why, its NOT stiff, has great flex, and I can really bend it, its also very light and playful, I had longer, stiffer and heavier boards, but no thanks, so think 2-ce before buying, again it's your input, not some bling equipment, this week I saw some carvers on old gear, let say 20 years old and I really enjoyed watching them, great riding, some food for thought
  2. Yesterday and today, it was nice surprise as carvers on old alpine gear 20+ years old showed up, look like a lot of stuff is still in use, and great riding also, even EC, as I did never tried old gear, and have noticed or sale interesting Nidecker assymetric board from 94, for 30 bucks, is this still valid, how it rides, should I try it, or just fotget it, thx for replies
  3. Proto series is made with same spec's, that were chosen from team rider, so basically you get what is used for races, core is lighter, more expensive wood etc. Eliminator proto isnt titanial, because team rider dont like it, for example ... but spec's can change every year, so check them Cheers
  4. Of course its the rider, but he bought F2 speedster with a reason, all I wanted to say is F2 makes great gear, and that you dont need most expensive gear, plates, specific board for ... style, Cheers
  5. F2 makes great gear, always has, I knew there was doubts about their gear Best rider that I saw, rides F2 speedster WC 185 without plates, he said its stiffest snowboard in production and guess what, it rides EC on very steep black run, perfect EC full speed, just amazing, other raiders on Kessler, Oxess, Virus etc on plates doesnt come even close with style, speed...so not board for EC, but amazing EC raiding and on very steep black run On German ebay there are stores that sell F2 gear, one of them is F2 store, you can suggest prices at some stores and if they agree, you can get amazing price, they ship to whole world A lot of people dont know, normal Eliminator is same shape as SG soul, but with great price Price/performance always, bling factor, huge price, not for me Cheers
  6. I have latest shape Worldcup edition wood and titanial, wood for normal and titanial for icy days, I had normal Eliminator 2011 semi hammerhead, some say that it was more suitable for carving then pure hammerhead shape, but I disagree, same about 12.8 sidecut radius, that is too big, board will ride how you want it to ride, for me it is not BX board but carving one, especially wood version is really agile, springy, energetic, and massive edge grip, I also like hammerhead shape and vario camber more than classic shape/camber boards,I have also ride this year 2018 Niedecker Platinum, that is allmountain/carving deck, but Eli is miles better for carving, I dont like SCR 8 m that Niedecker has on his decks, it just doesnt feel ok for me, Platinum is more agile, great for powder, I couldnt believe how agile it is, good deck, and good edge hold, but not for my taste, Perlatechbase on Eli is wicked fast, fastest sintered base Ive ridden and much faster then sintered base on Platinum, for people who dont like big SCR normal Eli has true/carving 9m SCR and different offset, all in all great decks for shure
  7. Why would you rotate highback if you ride duckstance, my girlfriend rides these bindings +30 + 24 and there is no need to rotate highback Here is best and cheapest solution : Put 3rd strap on bindings
  8. One that fits your boots better, biggest drawback on SB gear is connection between boot and binding Plastic one will last couple years, aluminium for life Look at F2 Eliminator carve fastec its great system, and they dont have heelcup, great for EC
  9. Bought for my girlfriend Platinum 2019 new for 190 Eur Triax/carbon/sintered base Rocker/camber/rocker Flex is 6/10 by feeling Soft/medium/hard, very responsive when flexing, beautiful and very good quality
  10. New Nidecker Spectre? Is should be improved Proto Btw I like your posts, you seem down to eart guy, you like gear that most people wouldnt ride, but fact is that its soo many good gear out there, and truth is that 90 procent is in rider not gear ... but I understand that bling name is what many people look for ...
  11. 150 eur was price in local store, same price was on ebay, also bought Driver X for 145 eur, all new of course
  12. Thanks for link, great gear and prices, but already got a great deal on new Eliminator WC titanial - 75 off the price, it will be interesting to compare same shape WC wood vs WC titanial, cant wait, thanks everyone for help, have a great season
  13. Agree with others, great boots, tried them in store, if I return to HB it will be 1st on my list, price is even greater 150 eur normal and 260 eur carbon
  14. Well I always look for P/P, SG, Kessler and Oxess, are expensive boards, maybe F2, it is same build quality and riding, but better price, anyway I wouldnt feel the difference as Im not that good, Elan Ballistic SL has good price if you can find it, last year I know you could buy it for 380 eur, used boards are so so to buy, you never know what you got, and after 50-70 days, its life is gone, ok for some maybe 100, Nobile is more than 1200 eur I think, snowboard production is cheap, shure alpine gear is small scale production, but for me its not worth to pay more than 1000 eur for any snowboard
  15. Im from Europe, so no US gear for me ... Im curious is anybody importing US gear to EU Well look like I will have to buy titanal board, to see how it rides, cant hurt if I have adittional gear, that I need for icy conditions, good excuse for my wife why I have bougt it :))) thanks everyone for help
  16. I have put liners from Driver x to Burton Reactor and ride with them, it was great feeling, very comfy wich was strange to me, because Driver x were really hurting my feet
  17. Ok, my bad, didnt wanted to sound like I know everything, and dont need advice, just that I know latest tech, I use english rearly and need time to think right words...please dont be like guys on alpine gear that I admired from first time I saw them on race equpment laying perfect carves, but when asked about advice, and they saw my softboot equipment, I got rude answers and bad attitude, I was so disapointed every time I asked...Im loughing now that I think about it, but all I wanted is to learn carving...
  18. I know everything about tech in snowboarding, Have Eliminator 2018 and Vantage 2016 so new gear basically Im just curious about titanal board, how it rides, yes I heard comments, that it doesnt have "pop".... is for ice condition titanal must ?
  19. Never tried titanal board, when talking to riders some swear by it, others dont like it, are titanal boards more demanding to ride, more stiffer, what is feeling when riding one vs normal snowboard
  20. Camber is fine, but vario camber is better, its on every new alpine gear for a reason
  21. Long, stiff, camber all thing of the past for SB
  22. Latest Jones ultracraft are not so good for carving, buy 2018 year or older, I wanted to buy it for my girlfriend new 2019 model was 270 eur, but then got new F2 Eliminator WC WOOD for 250 eur Who said snowboarding is expensive
  23. I know that its not only setback, but the whole snowboard design, that affect how it rides, just wanted opinion and experience with different binding position
  24. I have compared binding holes on Eliminator WC that is BX board, setback is -50 And F2 Vantage that is pure carving/ EC board, setback is -20, front binding holes on both boards match, on Eliminator back holes are moved back, so I guess only rear binding has to be moved front, to get smaller setback
