  1. What angles do you ride in the pow?
  2. Sweet, that article is super helpful. I will go ahead and try to do the norm tomorrow.
  3. First day riding my own alpine setup today and the lifty at the gondola said "sweet off centered monoski." I am looking forward to educating my coworkers haha
  4. Here is the sizing chart for the boots. I assume E-Shell is the next largest size.
  5. @Puhutes I just got a pair of the WC with the new liners. Do you know if the new liners are thermomoldable? Will you be at the FIS World Cup in Park City by chance?
  6. http://www.kessler-swiss.com/en-US/products/snowboard/theAlpine Its a 180cm long version of Kesslers Alpine board
  7. It is a 180 actually, got a really good deal on it. I imagine its going to be a little hard to tame at first haha Mark said the SC should come in the latter part of February.
  8. Just waiting for the bindings now...
  9. I am actually in the process of putting together a tuning kit. I have just been using the shop at work to get free or cheap waxes and edges, but they do a pretty shoddy job. Would I just need to get this, a gummy stone and diamond files?
  10. @digger jr Would be able to tell you the best runs to get your carve on at solitude.
  11. I am 6' 1" weigh 180 lbs and wear size 10 boots. I got to ride the 161 version for two days, what a great ride! I had to ride softboots on it and ended up running 42/24 angles on some rome targas. Really solid and damp ride, cut through chopped snow after riding all day on a busy Sunday at Brighton. The board loves to rail and once your into the carve your locked into it. While I did have a lot of fun on it I think I would either need hard boots or a wider version to really push it to its limits.
  12. Size US 11 mens. The extra width is to layout carves duck footed without getting boot out. I was riding a 26.3cm waist before this one, but I couldn't get very low before boot out would launch me to the ground :\
  13. Would you recommend a plate for a first hard boot set up? I plan on getting boots/binding/board next year but I haven't found much info on plates yet.
  14. That is some really awesome advice. I have tweaked the high back to match the heel side edge in duck stance, but I did not even think about changing the forward lean independently. I will start to tweak on Tuesday and report back :) Alas, weekends its hard enough to get turns in let alone try new stuff...
  15. I think carving in general will always be less popular, but I have started to see more people carving. Watching others carve boards is what dragged me away from skiing. I just think that most people going to the mountain are looking for a leisure activity and are not actively trying to improve. I also notice that when riding with friends you end up going way to fast to actually work on your carving. Furthermore going back to greens, catching edges and feeling like a beginner all over again inst to enticing if you only get to snowboard 5 or 6 days out of the year.
  16. I am going to bring a drill up and try out some different stance lengths and some more forward angles. I would do it this weekend but Snowbird is way to busy on a weekend to try anything new out. Do you know what forward angles would be good to try on a softie set up?
