  1. Yep 45 45 43 43 for 39 years same stance I used for skating, surfing, with board and upper body pointing forward it gives me the quickest most powerful feed or response to either frontside or backside Carves My 3 straps allows the legs as opposed to Ankles to provide the Angulation which for 99.99% of SB is not the technique they are wanting due to the Ankles being so Restricted
  2. thur... these southwest west winds, mean loading on North facing slopes, Elk Camp, WesB Ruthies or 1A Thunderbowl Higher Chairs may run slow as well...
  3. Da Buttah at Buttah...was Once you realize that the length and pitch of a run is not important, but rather the Feeling one gets from Carving on and in it... you can design Point Break type Waves or Skateboard street features that feature the Motion used in each and apply that to your Snow Stick Each of us comes to where we are, from where we have been First track
  4. Today offered some Good Backside Bottom Turn opportunities... The Crowd is somewhere else
  5. Actually Pat, did you see those Folks copying my Backside turns, they were stopping after each one, messing up the track, you were cruising...more and more are appearing, SB wanting to Surf
  6. Look forward to your visit Lance, glad we have had some snow and some more perhaps coming wed. thur. fri. ? please be aware there will be too many children on Milk on Saturday as usual...we will catch up with you and Katie and the others while you are here...
  7. Well now... some soft Cord today, with to many Carvers on it First couple were Ok , then I notice a bunch of Deep trenches, on my Line, say 4 or 5 in. that was the end of that...or maybe just some adjustment
  8. Yeehaw, Rob and I hit the secret zones today with Jon and JB Every person who can get on the mountain, did today, including Pat and why the Zones are so Special
  9. Yes, at least a foot even at Milkland
  10. Epic session of POW the Twins love Pow now
  11. Stoked Birthday session with Rob, he made 47 then found some Pure Carvers enjoying Milkland today Wonder how many turns if you could add them all
  12. I went 9 to 2 When I finished I thought somebody had used a socket wrench to tighten up my kneecaps Milkland was around 50 degrees today and now in serious need of SNOW what with Rock and Slick taking over the surface….though Rob and the Twins are smiling
  13. Super Fun to have Rob and the Twins here... I spent most of the day following him ripping Carves, literally almost laying in the snow on each turn, I know it is because of the Skateboard Ramp I built for him when he was 8, he spent years on it, then would apply it to his snowboarding...always a Duck stance too, now down to maybe 12 f -6 b though he is basically ambidextrous Carving with either foot in front, really fun to see for the old man following him :- ) They live in Nicaragua, he surfs every day, yet appears and just starts ripping it from the minute he gets off the chair...and the Twins took off too, skiing like they live here full time...that was so Awesome today
  14. Repeat short day Rob and the Twins arrive this afternoon
  15. well X is over Today was an Epic session on Larkspur, the Sundial wasn't even Groomed...so JB and I went to work on one of the best Waves in Milkland
  16. Thought this belonged here? as it is a heck of a Track !!! Show the Importance of Breath as well...
  17. So, today on a run by myself making Carves from center to right side, come over a rise and see an instructor with two students heading left, check some speed and head right to avoid them, I am maybe 10 ft. from the tree line, smack from behind into my Board, I turn to see some Kid, crossed tips and doing a hard face plant, luckily I was able to keep going straight after initial contact, I see him at the top after I waited for him, he shook his head and tried to blame me, I went over and explained that he was hauling ass, had 3 options, hit the Class, go into the trees or crash into me, since I was not hurt I said he made the right choice…he asked me to get the patrol as he had a big fat bloody lip and mentioned his Shoulder has some severe pain… they checked him out and he skied down…glad that no one else was injured…I noticed that while the crowd was non existent during the X games, the tourist were just straight-lining everything to show how good they are
  18. last X day today, Wonderful, caught the chair at west 10 minutes early... JB was somewhere else, so I did what I could
  19. another deserted day at WesB, Good grooming too and Epic surf session with JB
  20. Excellent Edit of New Jersey Big Swell
  21. another Epic session with JB, place was near deserted for 2 hours Thank you X games!!
  22. Rob Stevens: I’d also say that what’s shown as “slarving” is actually the very basic “linked side-slip”. A true sliding carve is as difficult to master as pencil line carving. A commenter here once described slarving as akin to WRC style driving, where carving is more like F1… Intentional drifting to steer, as opposed to that being very limited (but not absent… especially if your tires are “going away”). So... I don't Always Slarve, but when I do? It is because I want to...
  23. Thank you, grooming helps... Sundial was Epic today... and the Ticket price if you're Extra Special...
  24. Whoa, surfing Pipe in the mid to late 60's, maybe 5 or 6 people max... This looks like an accident waiting to happen, some sweet tubes though...
  25. X is practicing minimal grooming, flat light and hole, Chunk left early...
