  1. Assuming that they do this in every country. Add DHL to that list. For my recent board I had a slew of random fees, so I paid them. Then 2 days later they said nup sorry we found more fees you gotta pay and issued another invoice. I think I paid almost 300 in bs fees not including tax and duty. Plus in Australia we pay 5% duty on top of the invoice price and shipping fee and then another 10% on top of the duty, invoice and shipping. So 15.5% added to total invoice cost including shipping.
  2. Does the Donek Nomad count? I remember it being flat with a huge rocketed nose. Did admirably in powder but horribly everywhere else.
  3. If anyone get whiteout blindness like me from a computer screen and wants a dark forum theme, you can get one working yourself since I don't think the forum has a native option installed. There are a few ways to do this, but this is a simple way that anyone with Chrome can follow with ease. 1. Install Stylish extension into your browser (it just installs themes for sites) 2. Visit https://userstyles.org/ 3. Pick your dark theme from global themes (I just picked the first one I saw) 4. Select option to "Install with Stylish" 5. Click the Stylish icon () in your Extension bar or pin it there first if it isn't there for you, then click the 3 dots and hit "manage all styles" 6. Edit your global dark theme so it only applies to URLs starting with "https://forums.alpinesnowboarder.com/" Done. That theme looks like this- not bad, I can see again.

  6. Yep! It literally connects to the top of the boot cuff! A ball joint is clamped on there and a socket is used to connect the lower arm.

But, of course, I totally agree with you hence why I have mainly been in consultation with an ortho surgeon (well, he used to be one) friend of mine. We figure the concept is good and initial inspection shows it is worth keeping for practical testing. And meh if it sucks, I'll just flog it on ebay to someone in the UK. No big loss, it's not a terribly expensive device, anyway. Either that or I'll die. If we are talking egregious... bleach on knees? whattt?
  8. I've got a surgeon who has done my 2 ACL reconstructions who is considered the best in Australia for knees and I've consulted another doc who used to be an ortho surgeon prior to purchasing the Ski Mojo. Sometimes it helps to know the full story.

  10. The P-1 is a freeride board that can carve. The BX is a board that can race snowboard cross and carve. The huge waist width is there for a reason At 9 degrees, you need even more than 278..
  11. @Skahw Kinda feel like a P-1 170/10/278 might be better for you than a BX board... Have you considered one? From that list, surely the 169/14.5 is the one.

  13. That's very disappointing to read. I hope something is missing from there. People with that approach have a higher likelihood to end up in hospital or end up putting others in hospital.
  14. Titanal will be more damp, stable and predictable. Carbon will be more powerful and return more energy to you when turning. My preference lies with titanal. But that's just me. Preference dictates whether alpine riders want titanal or carbon (from what I understand, Marcel makes more carbon carving alpine boards vs titanal alpine carving boards). Titanal vs carbon is rider preference in bx races (might be course specific, also, I don't know). SL/GS racers exclusively use titanal. I think 12m would probably be perfect for your first Oxess. 10m-14.5m would be the range I'd look at. I think for the 17m to be suitable, it'll need to be a bit more flexible than the 14.5m boards. But in general, that's a pretty big sidecut and personally I would look for something smaller. @David Kirk has a lot of experience with various sidecuts on Oxess BX boards, some being of the bigger variety. Perhaps he'll chime in with some advice.
  15. Recently decided to change up my snowboarding gear due to grade 3 (1 & 2, also...) cartilage issues in my knees to enable me to continue riding. We decided to go shorter/lighter/slower. When I listed this board the first time, something was (and still is, I guess) holding me back from selling it, so I pulled it. But given the number of legs I have and the amount of time I get on the hill, it might be better I let this one go. If it doesn't sell, then that is enough justification for me to keep it, though! I wrote a review of this board after the season had ended in 2019. I'm located in Australia, so shipping will take longer than from the US. I'm assuming that there won't be any interest in this until next season, so just posting it now so I can bump it later this year. I've priced it similarly to @Jack M's custom Kessler 174 since they cost the same and have similar snow time. This one cost me around USD1900 including customisations, tax, shipping, etc. I also have some used Intec gear up for sale. Price: $1250 including shipping within most parts of the US and possibly EU. I'm open to reasonable discussion on price. Info: I bought this board specifically to compliment my Kessler The Alpine 168. Upon returning from the trip, I sold the Kessler because I preferred the way the Oxess rode. It's supremely easy to ride, one of my friends rode this for 4 hours and it was his first time ever on hardboots and even he found it easy. The strength of this board is that you can put all your weight and strength into it and it will just take it and be completely unphased and remain fully composed regardless of what you throw at it. Ridden literally 20 half days in 2019 Edges were only ever touched up with fine Moonflex stones (600 then 1500) Wax used was Briko Maplus for riding and storage (I don't have "storage" wax) Always waxed the night before riding using Ray's Way Wax Whizard Hot waxed before and after the season Edges are full as per the photo below No base or edge imperfections I would say it rides something like a small GS board. I baby all my gear, I guarantee this is in the best possible condition. I can take more photos and even video if required.   17. Since I tried the 951, I dislike the fit of UPZ on my foot. I actually just sold a pair of RC10 to make way for the ST 951. Had to decide between getting zipfit fitted to the RC10 and hoping to get better comfort or getting softer shells and using the same zipfit between 2 boots. Easy decision in the end. Just from feel, I would say the ST 951 with blue springs flexes very similarly to the RC10 I sold, which I think were quite soft. After playing with the boot, as @pokkis suggested, I think the boot may already flex a similar amount to my ankle.
  18. Hmm. @pokkis you're right, I haven't thought this through. Perhaps this is a poor idea. The only thing I considered is that perhaps the boot is just not designed to flex that much anyway, and it may not function correctly. But I have a feeling like I remember someone using this boot with no spring at all. It might be @hknz but I'm not sure. Honestly my entire train of thought went like this: 1. Dgss has lots of travel 2. Maybe I can make lots of travel on the 951 3. That part looks complex, I'll ask for help 4. I feel like pizza, but my teeth hurt because of my braces.
