  1. I was not surprised to see Allflex still dominating the plate world. Thought I'd see some other plates like sinline and iron rock, but they were almost non-existent.
  2. I must say, I'm happy that this snowboard cross doesn't have a quadruple big air at the end.
  3. I'm all about Oxess, so that's what I'd recommend. @WinterGoldany recommendations perhaps?
  4. It can oxidise a little if left unattended. It's only cosmetic.
  5. Mountain Slope could be an alternative with better heel lock.
  6. Been loving the alpine skiing so far!
  7. @emptypie Deeluxe + heel lift are pretty much synonymous for a lot of people. I'd try on a different brand of boots if I were you.
  8. Both fair questions. Well, the answer is, we don't have kids and have no plans for them!
  9. Ah no idea how I missed this! Yeah I already have AC but never play it! I'm having enough trouble spreading myself through ACC and iRacing that AC just never gets touched. I do kinda want to enter an LMP endurance series in rFactor 2, though. Feel inspired from watching Max Verstappen crash and wipe his team out a couple of weeks ago @scottishsurfer @Corey I'll have a server up for Bathurst from tomorrow until end of Jan, feel free to join any time (might be in icgt dlc, actually, not sure)!! I'll try to get an hour or so in every second night. Honestly I hate the track
  10. Got a few things last year, which will be put to use in the coming months. Couple of not new things in there, too. All mountain stuff: a secret board, carbon things to put bindings on, softer boots with softer top strap and a few different springs. Carvey stuff: an all round size board, a bigger board, a plate, stiffer boots. Other stuff: heated boot bag, new knees, couple of bindings. Zip fits will get rotated between boots. Few things not pictured: an sg sleeve for moving between mountains, hope it doesn't delam, a new helmet, because I wanted to keep matching helmets with @slapos and a hydration pack so I can sweat profusely while only risking minor dehydration.
  11. Maybe she got sick of her sg boards constantly delaminating
  12. mmm iirc the graphics might be created by her brother or something, don't think sg owns the rights to those. could be wrong, it's a distant memory.
  13. @Pew manual sent to your email. Any questions, feel free to ask. I think I ended up adding 1 extra washer to all axles to take up some slack. A few people here have extensive experience with building and using plates including @SunSurfer @pokkis @Jack M. Anything I mention below is just my personal experience specifically with the Apex plate and may or may not be correct for you. This may not be entirely correct. I think it should be dependent on your stance width, but also how your board responds to where the axles are placed. The manual may specify how they could be placed as a starting point. Might be diff for sl/gs, although not entirely sure. I think the axle positioning should be based on what makes the flex pattern of the board feel most natural perhaps, based on my experience. My personal experience was going as wide as possible on the Kessler 168 would make the board turn too big and felt like the KST no longer felt like it should, felt almost like a huge single radius. The opposite was true for the narrowest inserts, which makes sense. I'm 190cm with a larger than average leg/body ratio and I settled on the middle position for the ASIP mounts and the outside position for the bindings. This might not be the recommendation from Apex. I think they recommend middle of rear boot and front toe for axle positioning.
  14. @scottishsurfer how are you faring with the new patch? I struggled a lot to be honest. Feel like I'm finally getting a grip on it. The new M4 is basically broken. Have a cup car race on the weekend so started doing some laps @ Zolder using 27 ambient temp. Took me about 60 or so laps to get to this.
  15. Well... Time to start from scratch. New tyre and physics models change everything.
  16. Yeah mate all good! Dunno what temps they're for. Aim for 27.3-27.9 after 3 laps! I generally aim for 27.6 for a quali! It is easier to check your pressures using MoTec. I always find comparing my setup to a superior one gives a lot of insight into what and why re the differences. I'm yet to make a setup from scratch I felt was superior to any of those.
  17. Haha yeah that's actually every car! Yep, no cars' shift lights flash at the optimal point actually. In fact the optimal shift point is slightly different for every gear. Higher gears require a lower shift point. So the Audi is 8300 1-2 and 8150 5-6. Also going downhill you should reduce the shift point slightly for each gear, opposite for uphill. To a much lower extent, pushing into a headwind/tailwind. This sounds like you may still be on the brake when hitting the kerb or the pitch of the car hasn't yet stabilised upon mounting the kerb. Might be worth checking your replay to confirm it. Gotta be easy on throttle through entire Les combes, too. I'll do some laps in the 720 in a few days and see how it goes. Got a little achilles tendinitis at the moment in my left foot so gotta let that settle.
  18. Yeah mate flick me your email! I'll shoot you a bunch of good sets for a few/cars tracks. Only the ones I know are good. Mm from what I understand (which could be wrong), the 720 is understeery in general, that's why I think trailing a bit earlier is sometimes necessary. But honestly I don't know much about it. Shift point is actually 7650 on the 720, btw. Just finished the enduro. We had to retire due to technical issues. From my practise this week, this is what might or might not be true haha.... If you can't take eau rouge raidillon flat, that's 0.6s lost. Les combes T7 you want to use as much kerb as possible. T9 is a half lift. T10 is best treated as a double apex using turning to scrub speed. No name is generally a 20% jab on brakes to bring the nose down, coast in and floor it, 2 wheels off is what you want for a good exit. (on my replay I hit throttle for a split second after brake, just ignore that, just locking the diff because Audi specific reasons) Pouhon is on quickly to 75% then trail off for turn in, once 3/4 to outside on right, floor it. Easy to lose grip and understeer due to the drop off but just reduce steering angle until it grips. Start of campus you generally engine brake to 2nd and short shift to 3rd before T14, aim for middle of track before T14, then coast and floor it half way around T14. T15 is brake up to 100% but immediately start trailing off, down to 2nd and floor it. Take a late apex. Lifting on entry to T16 can mean a loss of 0.3s by bus stop. Braking into bus stop should actually be done diagonally from mid to the outside. Saves up to 0.1s depending on how well you do it. Pouhon actually can be done a little faster but requires a bit of a differently style. Braking and turning actually forcing oversteer there means you can floor it earlier, but takes way too much time investment to bother with, especially when you can find heaps more time with less effort. Maybe find 0.1s. But worth learning the technique because you can prob do that once at each track.
