  1. Bump for new items added and older items removed.
  2. Hi Guys, IF INTERESTED PLEASE TEXT ME 774-twofivethree-2064. I do NOT check Bomber Online frequently, in fact, until recently I hadn't visited in approx 13 years. I am moving overseas and cleaning house. This stuff seemed like it could use a new home: In case the photos don't show up, here is the link to the album: https://goo.gl/photos/9Ley1ebLQorBv8er9 Raichle 123 Mondo 30 boots. SOLD SOLD SOLD Burton Catalogs, years '95, '96, '98, '00, '02, and another from around the same vintage. SOLD SOLD SOLD Vintage Burton Backhill - $550 shipped. (many more photos in the album, on eBay now but will give a deal for forum member). Catek World Cup bindings: I think the plates are size large. FYI, I have some extra bails (I think front and back) that are at a different house, I will happily ship them to you separately but I don't have photos at this time. $80/bo Burton Factory Prime 167 - was my primary board back in 2002/2003. Sold w/o the binders. - $35 + shipping. F2 board with bindings - Free if you pick up. If you really want to pay shipping, I will ship it to you. Also selling some Thule 400 towers and fork mount bike racks, as seen in the album. Full set of Thule towers and fit kits for $30. AGAIN, please text me at the above phone number (or call), don't PM me here. Thanks!
  3. I saw the trailer on the "First Descent" bus that is touring around. It looks like good entertainment, but from what I gathered it lacks (proper) soul and is not true to what it claims to depict. It just felt like they were hyping up snowboarding, and extreme riding, and how good some professional riders are... all while also trying to explore or explain the roots of the sport... which are a fry cry (the roots) from how this movie promotes the sport. Rather than delve into the depths of why people snowboard, what is does for expression and individuality, or just plain fun, the trailer touched on these superficially and expanded how how "sick" the sport has become, and how the level of riding is increasing so greatly (which is true, but that doesn't mean thats what drove the creation of the first Snurfers, Backhills et al.) The trailer made the movie look like it was sold out, and while most likely appealing to the masses and fun to watch, as a documentary, I feel like it cannot begin to approach a video such as "Faster" (or the sequal). I could be wrong.
  4. I am looking for a Donek or Coiler race board. I'd also look into a free carve board if the price was right... but I would prefer a race board. If you are trying to get rid of bindings (Catek or TD) something might be able to be arranged, although I don't need any bindings I could always use another pair. Board condition doesn't matter as long as it is reflected in the price. I'd prefer something a little used, a couple cosmetic issues aren't a big deal, but a board with good life left. Looking for something 175-195, but towards the longer end of that spectrum. I have Pay-pal if that makes a transaction easier. Please EMAIL ME klaucke-*at*-charter.net (replace the -*at*- w/ @). Thanks for your time, and happy carving.
  5. I'll be there Sunday, possibly only in the night. The place is empty and awesome trenching ensues.
  6. Can anyone post some pictures from the event? Or is there a thread I missed where they are posted?
  7. I was going to Okemo today and decided to check bomber to see if anyone else was going to be there, and I found out the ECES equivalent was! Sweet! See you guys up there today hopefully.
  8. That two planker is (at least part/most of the time) my friend Chris! Ski blades at the time, no less..... I even caught a couple seconds of myself in that vid up at Sunapee, sweet! Although I hope I look better carving now then I did then with ski boots.
  9. John I hope to meet you and the rest of the hardboot gang there tonight!
  10. Anyone know if the video shot on 2-11-04 of last year got edited and put on the net? I think someone had edited it into a video and was giving out cd's, or something along those lines. And someone was going to toss it on the net- anyone have an idea if it's available (and where)? Thanks
  11. Have you done any DE's or autocrosses with the Elise? I'm a big fan of the Lotus idealogy, I wish more sports car companies would drop the luxury and get on performance. Edit: Is that thing really under 2000lbs, seems like it could be optimistic for a safety complying vehicle.

    jumps

Geoff, didn't this lead to a broken board a couple seasons back? Just something to note for people that hurting equipment is doable. I saw Geoff land well too, but I'm pretty sure he cracked his board just from the size of the air. I still do jumps on my alpine setup, but nothing like my freestyle days. Small tables I'll do, but no kickers. Small little stuff like bumps in the trail and steep pitch changes are what I like the most, with a grab or 180 or 360. I think it's best to stick with smooth, low (but not neccessarily short) air and keep it safe. The whole reason I went to alpine was being hurt jumping. Now I go as low as I can instead of as high.
  13. Hey guys, I've been to wachusett last night and tonight [sunday] and the conditions were awesome. It's not like spring skiing at all, no bare spots. I just got my new, 1st pair of Raichle's in so I had to go regardless of the snow, and the carving was mint. I encourage everyone to go this wednesday, I didn't see anyone last week [due to ECES I assume]. If you thought the season was over, it's not, and come June you know you'll wish you went that 1 more time!
  14. After riding with John all day last wed, I feel I should go see him and bring him some cheer. I think I'm stopping by tomorrow 3ish if anyone else wants to...
  15. I'll be at Wachusett wed as well. Bob L: I'd like a cd if you can manage it! if tb sees this, bring the 195!
  16. I'd check the interface with your boot as well before handing over the cash, but other than that, I don't think that binding would be too flimsy or unsafe. Also, do those bindings have the right plate [3x3 or 4x4] for your board? People break bindings all the time, even TD2's [Jacques Rilliet], so if you were really super concerned, just check for stress cracks etc each time before you go out. I've seen guys who had equally flimsy burtons riding pretty hard. Honestly, if there were to be a failure I think it would more likely due to incorrect adjustment [not enough bail tension, my first time ever riding alpine I made this mistake, and found out at speed!] or fasteners loosening up. If you're a beginner, I doubt you'll be going mach II or laying down horizontal carves, so I wouldn't worry too much about failure. It may be naive or utopian to think so, but I doubt anyone including Burton would put to market a binder that is absolutely junk and will break without warning. Ski blades have bails half the diameter of my Cateks yet I see kids take huge diggers on jumps and have no problems. Personally, I found that with my completely junk F2 bindings, they never became that big a problem because the F2 Beamer they were mounted to was the fuse of the system: the board would give out in carves way before the suckiness of the binding came into play. The biggest and only problem was just looking down and seeing them and knowing I could make my legs bow or de-bow at will, but they held my feet fine on that board [once I tightened up the bails during that first time out]. Hopefully someone who has used this binding will reply and tell you if they liked it or not. It seems you are leaning towards SI anyway so go with what you personally want. It's tough to look back and think of what could have been when you're sitting is wet snow trying to flip that bail over. Sometimes I have to sit down if it's a steep slope I'm trying to flip in on. Lastly, I'd say take anything anyone has to say with a grain of salt, i.e. some people swear against Chrysler products, but my Jeep Cherokee has 141,000 miles and runs like new [when was the last time you heard of a Cherokee dieing at 100,000?]!
  17. That binding looks plenty beefy for a beginner, for 15 more bucks I'd go step in. If you have a problem, that's reason enough to buy Cateks! However, I doubt you would unless your linking EC turns very soon.
  18. You said you shipped the board... are the bindings still available?
  19. I don't know much about the bindings themselves, but I do know after over a year of riding my normal Cateks, and watching guys just step in to theirs, I'm extremely envious. I would say that if both bindings look equally durable, and one doesn't flex undesirably, then go for the step in. Its nice to just get off the lift and *step in* as the name implies. It should be noted though, that it really isn't that bad to put them on the old fashioned way. However, maybe you could hit him up on the price b/c klugriding.com was selling them or something similar for 85 bucks new http://www.klugriding.com/product_group.php?product_group_id=82 Personally, I have an old pair of F2 bindings that remind me why I ride Cateks-- because they are solid-- and which you might want to consider a little later as they [or TDs] are a good investment in bindings.
  20. Hey guys don't count me out! I'm definately interested in doing a day trip, and Wed are perfect b/c I have no classes. I have skied Ragged, Sunapee, and Mt. Snow and I think if you're only going for one day, each has plenty of terrain to entertain hardbooters. Sunapee has some nice wide groomers, as does Ragged. Also, any of you with a Mt. Wachusett Century/Season pass should know you get half off from Okemo any time your pass is valid [as well as other American Skiing Company resorts, "mountains of distinction"] As for next wednesday, Sunapee's 2-for-1 deal seems to make it an obvious favorite. For carpooling, I have a 7 passenger van if need be [meet at Wachusett?]. PS- I plan to be at WaWa tomorrow night [wed Feb 4] as long as the weather is remotely decent, hope to see some other h'booters there.
