  1. just a thought .. make sure your mounting bolts/screws are not bottoming out in the boards inserts, thin stainless washers may solve your problem.
  2. I will shift the pattern. Upz boots, stiff tongue, both cuffs straight up, occasionally 1 tick fw rear boot. I prefer to ride toes down, 3* heel lift on both binders, some added plantar flexion benefits dorsiflexion - a little inward cant on both binders when riding with the iso-plate , without the plate I prefer no cant .
  3. nice travel, storage or trunk bag, great condition . I have used it for boards up to 185cm long, its heavy duty construction with padding. 50$ plus shipping usa only pp fees covered by seller. email me for pictures @ nitrodubb@gmail.com if interested
  4. yes, shipping to your location would be more than the quoted "shipped price". my bad, I intended the add price for usa buyers only.
  5. I originally thought the flo liners that came with my upz boots were terrible, turns out they were 1 size to small from the factory. I ended up getting a flo liner out of a upz boot 1 size larger & they fit my boots much better. I used my molded insoles & did some easy mods with a little padding over the top of the foot& the shin bone, was very happy after that , no more numb toes, squish or slip. They arent the warmest liners tho, so on cold days I just add a hot hands toe warmer under the boot tongue.
  6. good luck , its a crap shoot once your north of 200lbs, most equipment is rated to 200lbs. inspect your gear & keep a new supply on hand if you wanna ride all out. Im 230 & have snapped td3 bombers in half, bomb proof my ass .
  7. price drop 200 shipped...paypal fees included
  8. I had the same problem& had to ditch those muffin top quitters, deelux & intuitions both packed out fast , especially in stiff boots @240 lbs.
  9. Ive been riding for 28 years & Ive had expensive helmets with & without face guards& still have had concussions. Regardless of the skull/face protection the added weight of a helmet will tweak you neck muscles even in a light crash. A jacket fixed with a roll of padding around you neck will help with whip lash, If your really concerned wear a mouth guard for added security . I used to wear full body armor minus wrist guards with a helmet & still broke the tib fib in my leg in a severe crash, it doesnt matter if you push the speed or not, odds are against you in this sport, do whatever you can to protect your self.
  10. LOL! I thought of you when I posted it up for sale, glad you got it ! Its a beast of a board, I could lick the groom on toe side with that stick!
  11. I went to Eagle point a few years back , they still had some very old grooming machines & some of the best gs carving was had that day, I couldnt believe the solid cuts I was getting . I think the new groom machines are moving to fast & arent heavy enough to dig in & grind the snow up well.
  12. thread solved, thanks nigelc! & others who chimed in to my 5 beer rant Ive ridden a few different style plates, they are nice at isolating rough terrain, enhancing my turns and doubling my riding hours with less fatigue . the newest style plates are way out of my league price wise so I wont comment on them, I only watch the pros battle with them. still curious if there ever will be restrictions to the plates use/design . seems the alpine snowboarder is restricted to a very few disciplines as it is. will focus on new plate tech advantages spoil the race by blowing up the competition with an I phone app for the alpine riderbot ?
  13. when do they swap out the hot dogs for some cream cheese?
  14. what happened to alpine snow board racing ? it seems to be more about a repetitive precision , along with the best line of plate tech on every course to win .what happened to racing just the board ? Is there some lack in fitness that requires added tech to compensate?

  18. Thanks Bryan, Im 48, I have made it past the pain so far &the nail is a bitch, Im in pt now & I dont know if I will ride ever again but I hope that maybe some day I will feel well enough to ride again.Right now the screws /plate are the most painful part . I hope to have them removed at some point but I dont know if the nail will ever come out, I dont even want to know how they got it in there let alone how they will get it out! have you overcome the alterations to your leg? are you still able to carve after the trauma? 19. How it all went down is sort of hard to explain because it all happened in a micro second & every thing I can describe about the wreck is the best I can recall. I can also give everyone some of the facts from the broken bits from the crash. From what I can tell after looking at all the broken parts is this; the over hang of the t-d3 binder on the iso plate may have played a part in this failure . The front foot pinched the board at some point, there is a witness mark on the top sheet. Its hard to say if this was part of the failure or happened after the break. I need to mention I waxed /tuned edges & rode this board hard a couple days before the failure & I had no problems with edge hold at all also I had no issues with the board that day . After looking at all the broken parts I also found evidence that the heel side edge/sidewall could have played a part in this failure as well, I can see where the wax penetrated the edge & sidewall via a hair line fracture. This fracture was in line with the upm inserts torsionally on the toe side of the board break. This donek 185 rev was a warranty replacement, as my original 185 rev also snapped at the upm mount on the tail inserts. This happened on my 15th day of the season a few years back. The new replacement board snapped at 40 days and had close to a million vertical feet of hard carving. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME A DONEK REV 185 HAS BROKEN UNDER MY FEET AT THE UPM INSERT CROSS SECTION. all I know is that in less than one minute before the board failed it was acting flaky on my first & unfortunately final run that day. I was pushing 50mph & the board was washing out, the trees were close & I really needed the board to respond , I leaned on it hard in a toe side turn to avoid the trees at the edge of the run , it hooked up hard sending me into a cart wheel with my posture at 30 to 40 degrees to the ground. The first flip I missed my head & landed on the boards nose it snapped & so did my leg, the second flip I landed flat on my back & thankfully spun to a stop. It all happened kind of like big mario stated , although I have to add ,& it's my opinion that if I wasn't on an iso plate the board would have yielded better, bending more in the space between my feet allowing forgiveness at the boot instead of breaking the bone. I say this because this is not my first broken board in a stuffed nose carve. 28 years of riding, and most of them on alpine boards. And, always on hard-boots... I hope this answers all questions about my experience with iso plates & insert placement by design.Had I found the hairline fracture when I the tuned up the board, I would have discarded the board.tears...
  20. Here is a few pics of the disaster that ended my season. fair warning to those riding isolation plates, torque can reverse from the snow to the body if the board locks up! 200lb +riders bware upm&allflex inserts will bite you in the ass!
