  1. With your given info., I'm recommending Deeluxe 700 boots with thicker moldable liners (intuition, Palau, Scarpa, etc..) with ACSS or BTS. Here is a sample. Well... that adds up to $8-900 easily. or You may be able to find used Raichle boots around $100 and add all those parts (moldable liners & springs). I realized that having right boots is most important part of alpine snowboarding in hard ways. Hope you find your dream boots at once.
  2. Funny. Just few min. ago, I was jonesing while I was watching this.
  3. Here are some of F2's product line-up for 05-06 season. http://www.wslc.co.jp/snow/f2/05_06/products.htm xolufus: Quiet selection you got there. Loved the year's F2's.
  4. I don't think the S5 plates promote Side to Side flex. By looking at the photos, i think it allows set distance between plates for width of board. Difference between uni-platform vs 2 platform is to reduce weight of the plates, not to promote/allow side to side flex, I think. Some of reviews has been posted in some korean forum and it was softer than other plate system. Anyway, here are some translation of the product page. Material: 7000 Duralumin, Heat treated and tempered on 45C Steel Axis, Stainless Brackets. Difference: Very rigid on torsional stress. Plate+Bindings combo enable (F2 or S5 bindings) Spec: Weight 2.1 kg. (With binding bails: 2.7 kg) - Lifts/Cants can be applied - Custom (Regular/Goofy, Stance Width), Binding Angle is 50-55 Fixed. Noticeable Ride Difference: - Very easy to turn (GS feels SL) - Buttery turn Initiation & exit - Plate+Binding Combo height is about same as just bindings alone.. No weird feel from height. In the reviews, I noticed that he used softer setup (Oxygen proton GS 178 / SL 160, S5 Isolation Plate, Deeluxe Leman). That reminds me lowrider's comments on softer setup for softer boards and harder setup for harder boards.
  5. The Plate is actually from www.s5.co.kr, one of Korean binding companies, from last year and it is called 'S5 Isolation Plate". It has been available for (Korean) market from last year but riders were skeptical about its softness (compared to Apex or Boiler plate) and because of that, it was not popular. Since the company produce bindings, the inventor put toe & heel bails without body as shown and achieved Plate + Bindings combination. Binding angles are fixed in between 50-55 degrees. Too shamed to see great and very advanced concept wasn't recognized by favoring top & popular gears. Now it's matter of time to see binding company to partner with JJA's Board+Plate combo like. Hopefully Donek+Bomber? :)
  6. Mine was '81 Chevy Monte Carlo 4.4L V8 Coupe but with 2 dead cylinders.. Over 7 years of overhauling piece by piece, it was re-borned and performed like a street-illegal stock car with NOX but equipped with sheepskin car seat covers with VDO gold gauges with gold-chain steering wheels. :)
  7. Like the title, what's the size of mounting screws for Proflex bindigns. (Proflex like F2 Race, not like RS). It seems the center disks of Profelx requires longer screws than F2 Race's by looking at them.
  8. Yo Bro, Is the A55 still available? If you're still interested in my AF700 boots, let's trade. I will pay extra for the difference. Let me know. Pius
  9. I'm out since I have few other decks in my quiver that are similar spec. Anyway, I received some photos of the Stubby from OP. Very clean and nicely kept. Here I the photos:
  10. Try Hardbooter.com. I remember VIST installation Video from there.
  11. I went with mid length SG Full Carve this year from Kessler/SG metal mid-length decks last year. First few days, I was confused but once I dialed in, I am loving it. Got few more freecarving mid-length metal decks but passed them on to BOLers since I like full carve more. Still like decks that require rider's input.. so not after Coiler yet though (tried few and impressed by their effortless turns) but who know....
  12. Interested. Sent email that requesting some photos.
  13. Art, Thanks for picturesque details of the 'Lonelist Carver Trip'. Can't wait to see next post.
  14. I second Davekempmeister. I have a AWD station wagon with a rooftop carrier and is very versatile than my wife's AWD SUV/Crossover. It serves me perfect for snowboarding, biking, golfing. If it was SUV, I would have hard time to put my bike (MTB Steel XL) up on the roof. If you need a lot of clearance for snow/offroad, I recommend outback (pre-2010) or volvo xc70.
  15. yup. changes BTS/ACSS springs depends on condition or even boots. I know few use Raichle 123 (softest one) for POW and uses Indy for hardpack.
  16. Well. That's personal preference. I went thru probably 7-8 boots over last 2 seasons to find which one fits best for my feet. All different manufacturers, models, a size larger/smaller, w/ stock liners or moldable liners and even with/without modification. I chose an older boots with a lot of modification with non-moldable liners. I hope OP experienced all that but if Suzuka fits well and stiffness is in his comfort zone, why bother? Maybe that's why Northwave .950 still are still getting huge demands although they are 10+ years old.. hmm.. Since my season in here is over and I'm quiet happy with my decision, I will list the tested boots (mostly M28) for sale soon. :)
  17. I had both Suzuka and T700 (07-08 years, white) boots and as Mike T said, it's very identical except buckles. Only difference I experienced was stiffness. T700 was bit more flexible than Suzuka. If you like Suzuka, you can swap buckles to Track series. There was the buckle swapped photos of Raichle boots (Pokkis) in here and instruction in Carver's Almanac. Edit.. oh here.. it's not Suzuka but AF boots buckle modification http://www.alpinecarving.com/buckle_replacement_eng.pdf
  18. Yup. Around here (Southern PA resorts) started to close 2 weekend ago and now, WISP is only opened slopes. We had 81'F today and high 70s will be remained for at least a week. DC's Cherry Blossom Festival starts at next week. Winter is gone. BTW, Lake Tahoe area just started their season.
  19. Any update on your setup? Anyway, do you have 170?
  20. hmm.. Were you specifically looking for the F2 Silberpfeil? If you were looking for a freecarve board, I may let go my Madd 170 (Green sidewall).. If interested, let me know. I can send you some photos.
  21. pwrkytr, Sorry to let you know but the F2 Silberpfeil was sold before you sent the payment. So I refunded you the money you sent me 30 min. ago. Other member has been contacted me from 2 days ago and finally pulled the trigger about 2 hours before you.
