  1. Does any one here use a helmet camera? If so what kind? Im looking for something waterproof that can also be used for surfing any suggestions?
  2. Surf, skate, snowboard all goofy and I've seen an increasing number of goofy footers in lessons. plus everyone i've surfed and ridden with are regular so when they get jealous looking at a nice left and know they can't ride it as nice as a right I just go out catch a good one and make them feel even worse. of course when we find a nice peeling right they do the same to me.
  3. I keep one board specifically for teaching it's a shorter board for me 155 and it's wide and the bindings are equal length from the nose as the tail and they are only set at 10 positive(front) and 10 negative (rear) that way if my class is mostly regular (I'm goofy) I can easily switch my stance and ride just as comfortably switch so I'm on as close of a setup to their's as I can be. Plus after spending some time teaching on the beginner hill I learned that you don't wanna teach on a board you care about and don't want scratched etc. I don't care what happens to that board so I just use it as a teaching board.
  4. I cant ride it, I'm goofy and it's a regular asym. I might either sell it or use it as a wall hanger but I'm leaning towards selling it . and yeah from what i can tell it's VERY stiff.
  5. Here's the story I got this board when I was 10 and new to snowboarding and I bought it used not knowing anything about it besides that it was a snowboard. I never used it and gave it to a friend of my father's who never used it either so 11 years later I got it back in essentially the same condition that i got rid of it in. anyone know anything about it? It's an apocalypse asym 163. I cant ride it because it's for a regular rider and Im goofy. where were these boards made? was it a good board?? Is it worth anything?? any help is appreciated.
  6. Could i please see some pictures of these?
  7. I Just figured I would send an early happy new years out to all my fellow carvers.
  8. Im not in the city (ABOUT AN HOUR NORTH) but if you're heading up to hunter call me and we can ride on my breaks between teaching:biggthump
  9. Waiting on part 2 even though I'm on the east coast I'm still going to write a letter because this behavior of the safety staff CAN NOT spread to other resorts. It's time that the older cranky generation respect snowboarding as a sport and that the people who snowboard aren't all trouble making disrespectful people. I work at a ski resort myself and the way that the mountain in question is run is atrocious! luckily The resorts around me including the one that I'm an instructor at are very snowboard friendly. In my time i've seen more skiers cause crashes, skiing out of control etc. I can't count the number of times i've been run over by an out of control/ignorant skier when stopped or riding at a slower speed and in plain view. I was planning a trip out west soon and this mountain was on the list but from what i hear lot's of mountains out there have the same safety Nazi's and i've decided to stay here on the ice coast and enjoy free riding without being criminalized. This treatment os snowboarders must be stopped!!! END RANT.
  10. You were totally under control and doing nothing to cause trouble. Im just happy that we don't have yellow jacket nazi's at my local mountain. we do have parking nazi's though (story for another time). In general as long as your in control ski patrol leaves you alone. I HATE the generalization of snowboarders being drugged up knuckle dragging disrespectful A**holes :angryfire:angryfire:angryfire . and the comment from resident equipment master floppy was based in ignorance.
  11. I love my Burton custom's for comfort and control mainly because i love the toe cap strap. (probably the only thing of Burton's that i like).
  12. I set up each single board differently. my 155 wide is set up with 0 angle on both bindings for teaching/freestyle. my 166 is set up with 15 positive rear and 20 positive front for general cruising/softboot carving. I adjust till comfortable then i leave it. i always set my at the same spacing i just adjust angles/lean etc. but i don't go insane with it.
  13. I LOVE to carve the walls of the pipe cause to me it's closest i can come to surfing a wave in the winter. that said i wish my mountain just got rid of the pipe and turned it into a banked turn border cross run. to me the pipe is more fun before it's shaped because our pipe is half dug with dirt mounds and when they blow the snow it's uneven and it's just a hell of alot of fun to go mess around in. i don't touch the pipe when the walls are vertical because it's not as much fun for me.
