  1. :biggthumpTons of snow! Well over a foot as of this am on top of 7-9" from previous two days and after some wind holds got main lifts going by noon today Is the Sunapee web site accurate? Did they really get 0 new snow? Were they really able to run all their lifts in the howling wind? Might have been carveable after all.....But driving there and back would have been tough...
  2. sorry guys - I guess I am out for Thursday - we got 6+ inches of snow this am then sleet today (which doesn't hurt the riding) and are due for another 6plus by midday Thursday - Rain at my house but not on the mountain - I can't tell for sure by Sunapee's website but I think? it is raining there. Really nice day today on the mountain - no one here - one bad run when the sleet got big and hard and hurt when it hit your face Also wind hold looks quite possible for Thursday KB
  3. My deeluxes are dead - they are mondo 23 and have required a fair amount of stretching and work so a bigger size might work Looking for new or barely used Thanks
  4. Sooooo not sure I want to drive down to Sunapee Thursday although not entirely ruling it out - Sunapee is kinda wimpy about wind hold which might be a problem Thursday also I am hoping (looking promising) for a total snow event at Stowe If we get all snow at Stowe or if the driving is going to suck I won't drive down - let me know what you guys are doing - EZE - I am about to send you an email - up for alternate days... When are we going up against team 32 ?
  5. Hey Steph - thanks for the kudos - don't think I had much to do with the mediocre grooming - probably more from Geoff's beer delivery? Believe it or not that is as good as the grooming gets here - in fact about the best for the year - not like Stratton - maybe that should be the next ECES? They even groomed Gondilier twice one day - unheard of! Glad you were happy with the mountain - I love Stowe despite the grooming issues - although K-mart probably still my favorite... I saw Amy last week at K-Mart - we really need to get her to come to the next ECES and get the two of you ripping on the steeps represent'n for the ladies Kathy
  6. Enzo - hook up with EZE - he is Sunapee Not really alot of choices at Sunapee so you'll probably try everything and see what is best Sunday - Sun bowl often my favorite - 1st right after getting off the sunbowl chair Thanks for the gooey eggs offer but I just chew broken glass for breakfast Good luck getting videos of our team - likley all riding undercover except EZE and ?Durace .........Keep your eyes on your niece - our undercover riders may snatch her while EZE has you distracted and trade her for any videos you do get  -
  7. I'm in for a weekend scrimmage- as long as there is a block and tackle team assigned to ride behind me to mow down the family contingent that arrives at Loon mid morning weekends- You guys DO go out early don't you??!! As in first lift Sunday? Kathy
  8. Thank YOU Angie for the Whip gift certificate! We went out last night and had a pphhhattt meal! Kathy
  9. Heard more mono-ski comments this last week than I have in several years - guess the education was needed Thank you so much for all your work Geoff - that was great! Thanks to all for getting me out at night and out carving. Eric E - sorry about your Dog - :( Robert V- sorry we didn't get to take any runs - I saw you from the lift several times and can see you've brought the carving up several levels:biggthump Eric B - good to see you again! Glad some folks got to ride with my pal Ron - he rips - huh?! Angie and Gleb - I see they finally got the gondi running today - you'll have to report back on conditions - props to Angie for going out in the rain, the wind and the ice! Nice to get to know some more of the bomber crew including the Canadian crew Hope to see everyone again soon. Kathy
  10. Have you seen this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XW4Ja-XF9Ow Did I mention he got 2nd in this race!
  11. Hi Alberto Sorry not to respond for so long. My sweet princess best pal dog, Jezebel died two weeks ago -:( I'm working hard to get back out on the mountain but it is a struggle. I would be happy to take some runs with you. I'm not out too much on weekends - my pass is actually only a 6 day pass but I would go out on a Sunday early or late or a sunny weekday. (I'm a wimp on a carving board and go out on softies or skiis unless the conditions are ideal) Are you going to ECES? I'll likely be out this Sunday afternoon. Kathy
  12. Awww Willy - I thought you liked Killington. Didn't I meet you there last year at the top of the North Ridge Chair on one of those beautiful spring days? Yes Robert - I will be there. We moved to Stowe this year so I would have to leave to avoid it:freak3: I just went to Killington Monday for the first time in 2 months and am going today as soon as it warms up a little. Pals all say less crowded this year. Seemed so to me too. For example - Presidents week the mountain used to have 450-500 kegs delivered - this year 150. Owners supposedly happy with that - they want wine and cheese crowd - more money per visit - less visitors. Not sure it is going to work. Sad they are trying to change the personality of the mountain - BUT - it is nice to have less crowds See you later in the week KB
  13. Guy with poles is Jim - he didn't seem that interested in ECES, also met a snowboard instructor named Dolan that carves he will likely check in for a day or two, met a girl learning on a Rossi Throttle - a board close to my heart! - didn't catch her name but told her and her boyfriend about ECES, also there is a shop employee at Spruce peak that carves I passed on word to him about ECES and bomberonline - apparently he doesn't know where to get boots...so now he does, also another pal snowboard instructer Jen - good rider I am hoping she will come and demo hardboots, a ski racer chick from MMSA that also rides and was psyched to see my carving board and today I was out on my Donek and I met Bud Keene's brother Patrick who was carving it up on softies with his pal Steven (daughter at MMSA - learning to race but mainly does freestyle) and also Patrick rides hard boots and will try to come for part of ECES Should be a fun week - unless of course the whole Sunapee crew vanishes like today ...??? it was great up here - did it suck down South?
  14. Epic last few days - snowed here from Monday night until last night - it always cracks me up when you guys bum out cause it's snowing - and yes it is going to take several days of grooming until you would enjoy it - the cord. groomed lines lasted about one run today then turned into loose powder again :biggthump:D:D Well hopefully it will rain on Tuesday and refreeze Wed so Thursday can be just right!!!
  15. You mean like almost 2 feet of fresh in 24 hours? :D:D
  16. Wasn't solid gold - I was in my softies so I didn't take any runs with them - I really have to get out on my carving boards more..... I'm going to try for Thursday but my dog is not in great shape so it depends how much time my husband can spend with her on Thursday - ..
  17. Turns out it's more like 12+ carvers here from Canada - they knew nothing about bomberonline or ECES so hopefully they find this website and the links to ECES KB
  18. For the first time I saw a group of 5-6 carvers at Stowe today - on gondolier just before 3pm - anyone from here? I have seen the rare individual carver at Stowe - one from Stowe that rides with poles and a couple Canadians down for a visit ( I tell all about ECES) - I was out on my MADD this am suffering - just not feeling the love - had gone home for lunch then out on skis when I saw the carver bunch........ KB
  19. I would like to join you guys - looking kinda iffy right now - My best pal dog Jezebel not doing to well so I may not want to stray so far from home - we'll see looks like a good day for it though - should be firm and sunny......... KB
  20. llr - I have your address and I will send those out next week - you can delete it now - email sent KB
  21. I have 1/2 of a four pack left over that I will not use - first person to post a mailing address I will send you 2 tickets good at loveland any day of the year I will check back in a few days and send them out by early next week - I will let you know when I have seen your address so you can remove it if you don't want to have it up indefinately. Enjoy! Kathy
  22. yup i got one but haven't been there much this year - maybe only 6 or so times so far- I really miss Killington - seems that it will remain my favorite mountain despite various downsides and new owners. I was wondering why you were going to Killington for the first part of ECES - so you are going out with the crazy boys - maybe you better stay behind them to be sure you are in one piece for ECES Lots of changes there aside from being more expensive - and yes - I think less crowded - they are trying to change the whole nature of the mountain. Pals have told me that 8o plus passes got pulled for poaching early this year. Also I have heard rumors that the new owners are trying to bankrupt business on the access road so they can buy the property???? Their plan may be working cause in this banner year their lodging sales are apparently down 30%. Also interesting is that the new owners are trying to avoid honoring the lifetime passholders passes but it turns out that several of these people are on the planning board and now the new owners are having difficulty getting their expansion plans passed.........
  23. Robert - did you get a Killington pass this year? Kathy Advice for skategoat: Go first thing - K1 Gondi sometimes opens a few minutes early on weekends Take most of Saturday off - unsafe Most days good from 9-11am then go in for an early lunch - crowds thin during lunch hour and after 2pm cold or rain days scare people off One thing that can work well also is to head over to Needles eye area first thing - often people take awhile to get over there Avoid bear mountain in the afternoon gets more crowded then Canyon chair when running is great way to avoid crowds as is the glades or north peak chair, snowdon in the afternoon can get pretty quiet Good carving runs - bunny buster, mouse run, mouse trap at snowdon East fall, cascade when groomed (steep) double dipper (steep), rime, reason at the peak, needles eye (just to name a few) Ramshead and snowshed also have some tamer practice runs Have fun!
