  1. Don't wanna rub it in, but we've been getting nailed by system after system for about three weeks. Whistler is claiming that they've already got about 15'

We've got about a week of sun and lower temps coming starting tomorrow (Tues, Dec 1st.)

    good luck everyone,

    Dave R.

I have Whistler on my Facebook, you got some nice snow and like -1 C now.

Lucky ones! Rub it in...... hmmmmm......

PS your signature was just on place, was going for some wine and change my mind ;)

  2. I ride that board and LOVE IT!!!!

In fact, I'm sure that's the one I'm on in my avatar.

    Hello Kinpa,

sorry for asking like that in the middle of Thread but I have a little problem with checking info around, and my very new and wonderful contact on BOL is trying to help me with new set-up. I never had hard boots and it's not a option to by new one at the moment. I need just a bit more info what I could and what I shouldn't buy. My MP 25- 25.5, I need more softer boots, I guess it's just better for newbie. I have been skiing for years so hard boots it's what I know but in snowboarding it's just not the same. I was looking on Deeluxe Suzuka, I know they are not so soft but maybe not so stiff to. Anyway any info will help. Feel free to PM me.

    Thank you and sorry again.

  3. OK. Now listen up.

Nobody, I mean NOBODY should make any more donations. I donated and now have 12 chances to win. If any of you other bahstahds donate that lowers my chances of winning. And I need a new ski car badly.

Seriously, don't mess it up for me. Do NOT donate any more money to USASA. You're screwing it up for ME! This fine organization does NOT need your support in its efforts to develop USA's next snowboarding talent.

Come on..... If win I will share with you. Plus I have to give 10% to Ncermak.

I need a car to, from time to time.

  4. Cool! Just make sure you bring something for riding powder too. Not uncommon to get a good storm around that time of year. I could set you up with a good freeride board but I use small bindings with size 26.5. I can ride at least one day during the week maybe more if my schedule allows.

thanks. I'm not sure if I can take my board with me, just to much to take

( winter climbing gear etc..), all type of boots ( PS. M 25). Way to much.

I'm not a carver yet. Hope to get there. I will just look to rent some.

I will contact you for more info for sure. Thank you again.

    Looking forward to head T-ride

  5. Give me a shout when you get here. I live in Ridgway which is pretty close to Ouray. There are several hotels in Ouray that are nice. Never stayed at any so don't know which ones to recommend. The Weispsne (spelling?) has their own hotsprings and have heard good things about them. There are a handful of carvers over here. Would be happy to meet up with you and show you around the mountain. There are several good carving runs at T-ride. Durango is supposed to be pretty good too but the drive over there can be very dangerous in the winter. T-ride is much easier to get to.

    Hey there,

yes planing on coming like 3rd or 4th of January, for a week. Staying till to the end of Ice Park Festival. But beginning of the week I'm planing on going to T-ride, I believe it will be Tuesday and Wednesday.

Would be great to meet you and definitely I'm takeing you on the offer of the guide. Thanks.

I'll send PM around mid Dec, just to stay in touch.

    Thanks again.

  6. Powmtn, n snowbasin are the quite hidden jems foo sure also sundance is a lot of fun.

Bordy, I see you are in Utah. Big fun of your state and bigger fun of hidden jems. I put my mind on Pow Mt, and I see you are more or less for it as well.

I'm newbie but so horny by just thinking about getting better, had chance to get on board few times so I'm looking forward to get better and really ride.

And yes, I'm looking for hidden places, but going to UT anyway for a bit of climbing ( it's why I come to UT every year) and I will make plans to snowboard as well.

Any tip's maybe as a resident of wonderland call UT??

  7. These Petzl crampons should work on your HEAD Stratos boots, providing that there is enough clearance over the toe and heel of your boots to allow for proper clearance of the crampon bails.

The key trade off that you will have to work with is the lateral stiffness of a Stratos cuff vs. a regular ice-climbing boot. The cuff stiffness of most snowboarding hardboots will magnify all shifts in leg movement and make ice-climbing more awkward and unforgiving.

I think you'd be better off to use a backcountry skiing AT boot like the Dynafit Zzero of Scarpa Spirit 4 for ice-climbing and hardbooting. The sole pattern of the bottom of the boot will mate better to crampons, and the cuff flex will allow for more natural climbing movement.

I used an older version of the Dynafit Zzero to climb and snowboard both Mt. Mckinley and Mt. Logan in the 90's.

that is a great tip ever. Thanks so much. I was thinking how it could work as well.
