  1. Tracks or Scars? Over 70 yards away (might have to zoom in or make larger)- Up close-
  2. Well... How did it perform? I'm taking a break at the car, it's 64f with a 13 knot southerly breeze. The Midwest is too large to be considered one thing!
  3. In case your like me and can't remember the specs even though you had asked and Kurt had provided in a thread long ago see this thread-
  4. In that method we're just interested in touching the parts of the boot that overhang the edge. We are also trying to make the front of the boot and rear of the boot be as equal as possible to the edge. Can you go over the edge? Yeah 85 degrees would be a better square for most folk in a lot of conditions, especially beginners.
  5. Once you start laying it over you will get boot out. Also, the binding will likely impact the snow sooner as it overhangs the board width. Somebody made a short simple video about this...
  6. Ummmnn... ~45 degrees on a skinny board... That won't end well.
  7. I keep missing @Mike Blanz but not today... Got to take some laps. He was on his Donek MK but not an MK and ripping. Conditions were variable headed to soft. Unfortunately one of my party hurt his back and we had to take and early departure after a late arrival. Tomorrow is bonus day. 11-5. I think I will be there all day. The spaces that connect the runs is getting thin and the forecast is hot and rainy I doubt we make the 6 March closing date.
  8. Back yesterday. Snow was really good early. I've never seen so many people waiting for the rope drop. Filled the entire underside area... I entered via the shadows... skipped that line and got first tracks behind the patrollers. W00t. https://photos.app.goo.gl/29WX2XQi6ExPENaL6
  9. Thanks @NateW I've ordered custom from Sean and Bruce before. I was putting out feelers as to what else might be out there, right now. To all those that Pm'd me a big thank you.

Scribbles notes... Make plans to go to https://www.dachstein.at/en/winter/ski-resort/ski-region/interactive-panorama/ How late in the year is it open?
  11. Because of a mistake I need a replacement board. I'd like something: 172-179 cm in length 24 cm width vSCR ~9 to ~14 Tortionally stiff, ready for my mass. I ride in mostly horrible conditions on a tiny bump. Any models or manufacturers I should be considering? Maybe I should score something on the FB SBX group? Throw out your thoughts, I need some help here.
  12. What a 24 hours... sometimes the self-inflicted wounds cut the deepest. Thursday- Watching the radar... rain all day... thinking there's no hope for making some runs... and I really want to make some runs as I did some binding adjustments and the DGSS system is installed. I spot a break, grab my gear and race down to Paoli... as I pull in the parking lot the rain is stopping. W00t! There are like five staff and three people riding in trash bags. Ride 1.5 hours in some really sketchy conditions but see the promise in all the changes. Rain starts coming back. Head to the car, put the board on the roof racks, and start getting out of ski stuff for the ride home. Just get in the car when the rain returns in earnest. Whew! Look at the radar and see snow is on the way, much more so where I'm going so I decide to head out hoping to beat the dropping temps and the soon to be slick roads. Photos of Thursday- https://photos.app.goo.gl/63a6wT55EwSVb2wV9 Just north of Paoli I realize I didn't put the board in the car. Turn around, drive back, search incessantly, no board. The GM even took a drive around looking, no dice. It's snowing, dark, and I decide to drive back to Paoli tomorrow to be there at first light. Was at Paoli at first light, drove, searched, hiked the whole roadside, hiked off the road where corners made it likely the board would come off... hiked down in a couple of ravines. Made FB post/craigslist post... I lost my favorite board 179 Donek with Geckos and new F2s. Deep cut. Had a bunch of meetings so I worked off the phone hotspot in the parking lot. Decided I'd just get lunch and ride Paoli at open (1300) for an hour then head home. The groomers had arrived early like me as the rains had trashed the slopes. I wasn't expecting much but I got their best restoration job since I've been riding at Paoli. It was a fun day back on the Nirvana. It started to get a lot softer quick but the first 40 minutes was superb. Photos of Friday- https://photos.app.goo.gl/8k1f4N39c1rpaa4G6

I'm 1.95m and 111kg and I can guarantee the worst snow conditions to test one here in exotic southern Indiana. Think of it as a torture test. Hurry though... the snow maybe soon gone. Of course, I'd ship it to the next person.
  14. I expect a top ten showing from either @rwmaronor @bigwavedave... The honor of the forum rests on your capable shoulders. SEND IT!
  15. Listen to @Odd Job Vibra-TITE VC-3... This is the way... https://www.vibra-tite.com/threadlockers/removable-reusable-threadlockers/vibra-tite-vc-3-threadmate/
  16. Yup. The original generation has spring bundle issues. The screw binds on the metal part that attaches to the cuff spine AND the lower spring interferes with the spine of the cuffs shell (see pics). The DGSS system eliminates these issues and makes the whole boot have a really smooth flex.
  17. I've put the DGSS system on my S% boots... pics and stuff here- Quality product I wouldn't hesitate to put the DGSS system on your UPZs or DeeLuxe if you are looking for a better spring system.
  18. My DGSS upgrade is complete and oh, my... worth every penny... so smooth carpet carving. Why did I get DGSS? (Yes, I've already swapped red for the blue spring) As I quoted earlier the S5 group claims to have fixed the spring bundle for smoother processing. I initially thought the hang up feeling came from the spring screw but on closer inspection it was also the spine of the cuff running into the springs. Stock v. DGSS spring bundle See damage from interference at bottom of cuff spine. Can't wait to carve Thursday... doing the anti-rain dance! More S5 shots while the boots were in DGSS install mode: Yes, that's a UPZ buckle as I wanted a little more distance there than the stock buckle would provide.
  19. Fixed that for ya'. Mahalo
  20. That reminds me of the "new" Atomic dual strap- https://shop.atomic.com/en/products/professional-dual-strap-redster-m-l-ae0001712.html
  21. Thanks! The forecast is not favorable BUT if PP is open, I'll be there!
  22. @barryj please tag or dm some of the mods @Jack M @Corey
  23. I'm going to pass on this one. Thank you @Keenan for the time.
  24. Thanks for the link @bigwavedave That lead me here* which looks to be the exact board. *
