I got the ones one level above the black, I would expect you to be on the Grey 160s. Thanks for the tip on the pliers, Yeah its a bitch getting in there I will try the needle nose. If they are too stiff I will sell them and chop up the black ones I have. A visit to Gary at the gate will fix that.

So I got the 15-16 grey tongues and OF course when I tried to remove the bolts the portion inside the boot started spinning. With no tools to prevent the things from spinning inside the boot Im gonna have to take um to a shop

No buckles since they require riveting. These mods I can do with the tools from the boots. The swing away tongue was really what I was after. Cant Imagine how much easier its gonna be getting in these.That was one of the great things about the SB series boots, flip that tongue and get in and out.

Ok I just ordered the grey tongues and strap. If I dont like the flex I can always go back to the Og and sell the greys.

The #s really dont mean much to me. Who here has used the different stiffness toungs? Im used the black medium wondering how much stiffer the grey are or how much softer the reds are

He said in email there were no Black 16 replacements right now because the boots ship with blacks.. If I wanted black I would have to hack up a earlier pair,  that would mean moving the existing clasps on the tongues and potentially some chopped up looking tongues

I was looking to keep my black medium flex tongues and they dont offer replacements for the new version in black. My option was to modify a earlier black tongue. I guess the question is how much stiffer is the grey version over black.

I looked into the conversion, Im not the most industrious when it comes to some things. Im concerned about mounting the "teeth" on top of the tongue. Looking at mine they are riveted on the tongue. I dont have tools to do that so I would have to go somewhere to get it done
