Here's some close up pics and a base shot. I think the contact points on the nose are about the same, only the shovel is asym shaped. It is rather unique. I'm very curious about how it rides. I remember the similarly low contoured shovels on the Nitro EFTs would spit snow so hard my shins would ache by the end of the day.

Actually, the Overspeed is an asym! I'll post some additional pics if get some time tonight. Back to work for now...:(

No worries KC, I haven't ridden any SoCal resorts in over 10 years! Just way too crowded now. I'll gladly drive the 5 hours for wide open terrain... You might want to work on that whole 'slamming your face into the ground' problem... It could be the root-cause of all your contact issues! ;):lol:

KingCrimson is correct, they are made by "BUGZ". I've always worn glasses and surprisingly, these fit better over my Oakley Square Wire frames than any others I tried, which is the main reason I chose them. They're also lightweight, and don't fog up or scratch easily. They do let some air in at high speeds, but that's mainly due to the frames of my glasses not allowing them to seal perfectly on the sides. You might want to give them a try...

Old school example... Add Elfgen Multi-Twist plates, Burton PowerPlate aluminum cants and Flex bindings. Then spend the day practicing your leverage!! :D (or... how to make size 12 boots work on a 'relatively' narrow board and avoid boot out. )

Dang, if I wasn't saving for a house, I'd already have my order in for one just like that!! I bought my first (and so far only) pair of Snow-Stix at the Action Sports Retailer show in San Diego back in the early nineties. I had to convince the person at the booth (Mr Tinkler maybe?) to part with the only carbon fiber set he had left. :D They sure worked wonders for the Amero I was riding at the time.

I've always preferred 91X over KROQ or any of the other LA/OC stations. But it doesn't always come in clear up here in OC. I got that sticker when they had a booth setup at Snow Summit one weekend. The board it's preserved on is an old Sim's Kidwell that eventually became my trampoline board.

I'd like to pick up another Performer someday. During it's second season I loaned it to a friend and just like what had previously happened to me, both bindings pulled out with the inserts still attached. Well, not wanting to end the day early, we went to the local hardware store and bought some carriage bolts, nuts and washers and just poked holes right through the base and re-attached the bindings. Foam core rules!! ;) PS. That's why it's mounted goofy...

GeoffV, nice airs! and layout! I had my PJ7 out earlier this season and it's still a lot of fun to throw around. :D OS, I always use the max cants on the rear and min or max on the front, depending on the board. It just feels comfortable to me. Here's some shots of the stuff hanging around in the garage. Lots of good memories up there...

Hope you guys don't mind another softbooter on the site. I'll have to take a few digitial pics of the quiver. As you can imagine, most of my shots are on film. No, I didn't attend Legends. Sounds like it would have been fun. The closest I've been to Donner was Boreal Ridge, and that was waaaayyy back when you first had to get 'certified' by an instructor who would rate your riding skills. The rating you received determined which lifts you could access. Ah, the good ol' days... Here's another pic. Kemper Bullet 180. Virtually no sidecut, have to just get it up to about 30mph and throw all your weight into it to get it to turn. Fortunately(?), being 6'3" & 225 or so helps a bit. The board's almost 20yrs old and still has more to give...Gotta love it!

Hey Neil, I also started riding over 20 years ago during the '84-'85 season on a Burton Performer Elite 150. Similar things happened to me... Delaminated both sidewalls riding at night on solid ice that Mtn High was calling "groomed" at the time. Took the side fins off, added some epoxy, and went back for more the next weekend. Also that first season; riding through roughly 1 foot of thick powder, tried a simple 360 and promptly pulled out both bindings with all inserts attached. Never being one to let a "minor" problem ruin the day, I went into town (Wrightwood) during lunch, bought some round-head lag bolts/nuts, punched holes through the base with a phillips screwdriver and re-bolted the bindings on. The rest of the afternoon was a blast. Later replaced the bolts with T-nuts and had no problems the rest of the season. The nylon binding straps were definitely a pain. They stretched when wet like you said, and also froze solid at night while riding the lift, so you couldn't fasten the buckle. The only resorts that allowed snowboards were Mtn High in SoCal and Boreal Ridge in the Tahoe area. I couldn't afford a pair of Sorels until halfway through that first season, so I made do with Converse high-tops, a plastic bag between 2 pairs of socks, and duct tape over the whole outside of the shoe. Many times I was the only boarder on the hill. Other times I'd try to keep up with and chase the other few people I met riding at that time: Don Zsabo, Victor Coyne and occasionally Damian Sanders. I wouldn't trade that first season for anything...

Hans is correct. These did come in two sizes: S/M & M/L. The size can be found along the front (toe) edge of the binding in raised letters. They did make a 4-hole disc, but it only had 4 single holes in it, no adjustment, and those are harder to find.
