  1. Fall 23 bump...... Still in the hunt for an unused set of OEM 5 position lean adjustors.......
  2. This guy sings my mantra........mostly by the rareness of another carver on the slopes! I believe this guy is from and was filmed at Okemo in VT....... definitely dressed like an Ice coaster!
  3. Anybody got one their not needing?? https://www.bomberonline.com/TD3-2nd-Board-Kit-BP-Version-_p_235.html
  4. Well last season I learned it's pretty difficult to turn/carve right/toe side with only 1 hamstring attached in your left quad! Normal anatomy has 3 hamstrings/conjoined tendons per quad/leg. It's possible...as I not knowingly did it/attempted it all season long! .... but kept wondering why my riding/carving still sucks (after being airlifted unconscious off Squaw with concussion in Jan. 22 season) as I was having difficulty and actually not being able to turn right at times on my wider boards....Moss 26cm waist and Swoard Dual 2, 26cm waist......all boards in hard boots and TD3 SW Si's. And I was/had been thinking all along it was my concussed head making me suck/still holding me back! I also learned with only 1 hamstring in left quad your left ankle is going to take a beating having to majorly compensate for your left quad with only 1 hamstring! Enough that I popped 2 tendons in my ankle and will probably need surgery to fix that problem also................. How did Docs not catch this you say???? Workers Comp just takes FOREVER! I must have strong quads?? because I passed every torn hamstring test they gave me and It took 5 months to convince them that I needed an MRI because it's not getting any better from the PT and massage they prescribed. I'm 3 weeks out from hamstring surgery and sidelined until..... April if all the planets align and surgery and PT work! Time will tell.................
  5. Thanks CB! This has been a loooong week of being mostly immobilized and uncomfortable in this restrictive brace but I go in for the 1st post-op Tues. and also a MRI same day on what I tore in my left ankle when it was having to compensate for my left leg/hamstrings! I hope the ankle is fixable with just PT......but I doubt it with the way it feels!! Fingers crossed, We will see!!
  6. Well, had the Conjoined Tendon surgery 3 days ago, Mon. Aug. 24th and will go back for 1st post-op eval Aug. 1st The surgery was estimated to take an hour but of course my Tendons were a mess of frayed ends and they had me under the knife for 2 1/2 hours!! They have me on crutches and in a brace on my left side from my navel down to my knee to restrict me from putting any pressure on the staples holding the tendons back in place......so sitting is difficult and I have to slouch. Feeling no pain thankfully but difficult to get comfortable except when laying flat on the bed but getting in and out of chairs of any kind or bed is a chore! As of today/Thursday I can put all my weight on the left leg so already gone from crutches to a cane......Yeah! If the surgery, recovery and PT go as planned the Doc. says I could be back on the hill (bunny hill probably!) by April/May.......that's my motivational goal! Time will tell~
  7. Hey SS, I do have large and tight hamstrings but the Doc. doing the surgery says more than likely I partially tore the conjoined tendon in the initial collision/concussion a year and 1/2 ago, Jan. 2022 when I was airlifted to Reno.....which makes sense because when I was finally cleared to get back on the hill in late March it felt like my boards were broken as I had trouble turning one direction only but attributed it to my foggy head from the concussion. This last season was still feeling like I had no right turn on the wider pow board, Moss PQ60 or my every day driver Swoard Dual..... both in the 27cm+waists. I didn't have as much trouble on my narrow Donek Rev or Coiler Angrry at 20cm waists......but the wider boards need more hip input/initiation to start the turn.....especially at the 65/62 underhang angles I use. So this last season, 2023 I felt it pop when I was having trouble turning to avoid a corral wand coming into the lift and had to yank a turn really hard at at very slow speed to keep from running into the safety fence....and that completely tore/ruptured the tendon......that helps your hip make turns! So impacts/collisions are the culprit I'd say!
  8. Well. it only took 6 weeks (all of the month of June and two weeks of July) to get an Orthopedic appt. to look at my torn conjoined tendon! Here's a photo from my MRI. It's pretty obvious that my left side is quite different than my right! Verdict is I need surgery to get my carving turn back!.....and to not have it constantly bothering me walking, sitting, biking, etc..... So I'm scheduled to go under the knife this Mon. July 24th!! Sounds like a pretty invasive procedure!.....no arthroscopic procedure available for this unfortunately! I have to wear a brace for the 1st 6 weeks that immobilizes my left leg so as to not put any strain or pressure on the staples used for reattaching the tendon. If the procedure , healing and PT go well I could be back out on the hill by April..............so Yep! I'm out the first 5 Months of next season .....but getting back on the hill possibly by April is a good goal!! Wish me luck!
  9. What photos? Specs Man! We need tha specs!!
  10. Ladia, You Tha Man! Glad to see ya out there getting after it!!
  11. Yep! I just stuck with what works and got another pair myself
  12. Ok.........so I Wasn't Just Imagining Something Wasn't/Hasn't Been Right Since I Felt That Pop! in my left hip/butt cheek Feb. 8th!!!! Finally talked the Worker's Comp Doc. into an MRI as I was going on 3 months post incident and still having same pain and problems with no improvement! Just got the MRI Monday...(which I had to wait almost a month to get in!) and the result says I have a complete tear of the Conjoined Tendon!, (biceps femoris and semimembranosus tendinosis) origin at the left ischial tuberosity with 2 cm distal retraction. Now gotta wait to get WComp referral to Orthopedic Doc., which will probably take another 3 weeks! and then another 3+ weeks to get in for surgery I expect! Because I have had to compensate for my left hip/butt cheek Conjoined Tendon it's been hard to make right turns on my wider Moss boards on groom or pow............and my left ankle has really taken a beating trying to compensate for my left hip! Enough abuse that I have Popped! something in my left ankle and it's sensitive when walking on period and also when in my hardboots! But doesn't hurt road biking or doing squats weightlifting. Anybody here had a Conjoined Tendon tear or Arthroscopic Surgery for Conjoined Tendon?? Whats the Post Surgery/Recovery like??
  13. For me just depends on how cold it got the night before.........if it goes below freezing the groomer can lay it down and I'm on the Ferrari......but late winter eventually rolls into spring conditions even here at 6200ft for Squaw base and then it gets problematic so I downgrade to the everyday work board that can carve but will ride that slush transition line that you know your going to hit somewhere moving down off the summit.
  14. Sean says the MK WILL ONLY come with 1/2 edges and if I wanted anything else they will leave the edges RAW! That made me wonder if their doing some kind of Super Secret "Donek Proprietary" Edge Treatment to the MK?? It was like he was trying to say: "It's Special MK Magic! Don't **** With It!" Curious if any MK riders have changed the Special Sauce OEM 1/2 edge angles to anything else ?? What say ye??
  15. Hey Neil, Hmm....hadn't thought of it in those terms as I really feel I've had to work at it....it just didn't happen. Here's my progress in graph form and as I mentioned, for me it's kept me More motivated to (eat even less, exercise even more) see my progress/results on paper! I hit 214lbs. Today! Heading out the door now for a 60 miler bike ride up to the summit of Mt. Rose 8,911ft. elevation from Squaw here at 6,200
  16. Hey CB I live right here in Olympic Valley and it got below freezing as all the windows on the cars were covered in frost so that's always a good sign for grooming. The Squaw parking lot registered 35 at 7:45 but temps were expected in the 50's by 11am I was still comfortable in my outer shell jacket at 10am but would have ditched it if staying longer. Of course there were your usual weekend crazies in shorts and tanktops in the lift line at 8am.....
  17. Look who showed up at Squaw for some old guy commiserating and carving today! - Ladia! So great to see ya out there today and to make some turns together buddy! Two old guys still after it post collisions, air evacs and hospitalizations! The conditions were great but the weekend crowds did me in by 10am! Here's some photos of our 2 hour impact on the runs.....
  18. Prescribed by my cardiologist to help combat an extremely high 170/110 BP I've had consistently since my collision 16 months ago. We had tried all new combinations of new BP drugs to no avail so we decided to fight the weight gain I've acquired the last 5 years from the original BP meds I had been taking. Ozempic works but I would not call it a miracle drug . I started out on it at 235lbs. March 29 and today I'm down to 215. My goal is 210 So I've lost 20lbs. in 6+/- weeks/42 days The medication does help with not getting hungry and feeling full after much smaller meals...............but I feel I have had to work at it and am motivated more by the progress I'm tracking on the graph/chart I created....... I'm driven to get/watch my graph to move Down! Since starting the medication there were three weeks in the middle were I didn't see any loss for 6-8 days and I'm snowboarding most every day, weight training 3x week and road bike riding 100+ miles a week.....on top of eating less. Losing the 20lbs. has had a tremendous effect on my BP....I'm consistently at or below 120/80 now! But I don't feel any different, you know, not lighter or more agile. The only thing I have noticed is how my pants are looser......in fact Nobody has even noticed or stated any awareness of my 20lb loss. But I'm 6'2" and broad in the shoulders so I guess I carried the extra weight well ?? I wrestled in HS at 230lbs and in college at 250lbs......but you know that was more bulk/muscle way back then compared to my tubby 235 most recently. I'd say the only noticeable side effect for me so far is constipation/reduction in bowel movements.......but not as much is going in so it makes sense not as many trips to the bathroom needed. Anybody else here on Ozempic??
  19. Wow......I would have freaked to be reviewing the footage later and to have seen that chasing me! Any idea where she's at??
  20. If their open then it's ridable imo........ Just need to be 1st chair/go early and use good sex wax. Best I've found is "Fast Stik Glide On Wax" Warm rub on. Alot of shops have it around here. It's pricey at $30 a small stick but one application last me a good 10+ runs on the hotest days and a good 2 hours most days. When I feel I'm dragging some I just hit it again in the lift line and rub it in with a piece of 3M Scotch Brite pad I carry with me. You can buy them at any hardware store for like $3 for one. Most other warm conditions rub on is paste and only last 3-4 runs. The lifts here are on "Spring Hours" and only open 8am - 2pm and it's slush by 11am so I'm usually done by 10:30am This Stuff Is Tha Bomb! https://faststik.com/products/faststik-warm What also helps is to have good structure on your base. Really makes a difference as moisture level in the snow increases. With good structure it decreases resistance for that water moisture to run off. Have fun riding the slush! I AM!
  21. Thanks for the info guys. I would love to try the SBC's but I went ahead and bought another pair of Power Wraps because they were available here and already got them molded. I'll downgrade my old Power Wraps to my Pow boots.
  22. "SBC WRAP liners were developed with Coach Mark Fawcett and elite athletes from the Canada Snowboard National Team" Anybody tried these??? I mean, Damn... Mark Fawcett Is Tha MAN!! How could they not help!! https://intuitionliners.com/shop/sbc-wrap/
  23. What do ya do when it dumps 5-10 inches overnight May 7th? YOU RELEASE THE MOSS SNOWSTICK AND GO GET SOME! Sorry for the shaky vid, this was me holding my phone out in-front of me and trying to ride the pow. Nothing deep or steep (yes it's steeper than it looks) but just me in a state of Euphoria as we're still spinning at Palisades and it was a Glorious Day (lifts opened at 8am) With NOBODY There until after 10:30am......And I Didn't Get Hit Or Fall! Guess I need one of those selfie sticks if I try this again!! Come On Out and Get Some....we got plenty to share! ?
  24. W Well, after going thru all that, shooting, reshooting, editing, adding music, fades, then finding my old YouTube account, having to wait for uploading/posting to YouTube channel......sure is a hell of a lot of work for a shaky, hand held cell phone, measly 2.5 minute vid!
  25. What about all those videos under "softboot Carving Worth Watching" ?? Those were listed there 1st then lifted from YouTube??
