  1. Yes....but I'm out of town this week.
  2. $$ Price would help.................
  3. UPM? Hmm.....looks like UPM but what UPM plate uses the center hole inserts that are on the board??
  4. My whole day's demeanor depends on An Early Start! If I'm going to Heavenly or Northstar to get a primo parking spot (aka- 5 minutes from the lift!) I gotta be up at 5:30am, driving by 6am parked by 6:30 and sitting in Starbucks by 7am. A hot chocolate and classic oatmeal breakfast while relaxing until 8am and then go stand in line for the doors to open or lift to start spinning by 8:30. If I get behind schedule even 15 minutes it crowds and chaos the whole day!!

  6. Yea...don't go with the 4x4 UPM mount....just deadens the purpose and ride of the Plate and the stack height and weight sucks. Yes, UPM is dead. Probably 5 years now. Allflex/Ironrock is the latest/greatest which reads $$$ Unless your racing at the World Cup/Olympic level UPM is still just as good... imo. Here's a link when I asked the same question:
  7. J run your own test if ya don't believe me - It Sucks!...........just don't blame me if you get hurt! Well not specifically that board but as I am one of the last UPM hold outs and Adjunct UPM Plate Master it's just a huge to the UPM board + UPM Plate systems! All my hard charging carving rides are UPM boards+ UPM plates. Kessler 168 + UPM, Donek Rev 163 + UPM, Coiler Angrry 160 + UPM Bruce was reluctant to make a new Angrry with UPM but I signed my life away that if I snap it I can't cry foul. The Angrry is a 20w and I'm running TD3 SW SI's 3/6 cant disks on BP lowers which sit on a Donek F Plate. The K168 (Is a Wow ride by itself!) was running on a Donek AF plate because of the length and BP lowers and board+ plate is Now OMG!! Well if you sweet talk Sean (or pester the Hell out of him like I did!) he will make you a new UPM F Plate! I got a brand spanking new UPM F Plate just last season. He said he had enough leftover parts to create at least one more! Better Go Get it! Thank you..... and congrats to you on your Swallow62 purchase! This is my 3rd Moss PQ60 and if I was told I could only have/ride One Board In My Quiver this would be it! It loves 3ft of Pow and it Loves to Carve on the groomers....all on the same run! No other board can do both so well with such mixed conditions on the same run! It's a renaissance design and masterpiece of handmade craftmanship! I run it with TD3 SW SI's 3/3 cant disks with softer Deeluxe 325 boots and liners and no BTS. I really save it for pow days....which was the majority last year here in Tahoe!! Being a Cali boy I'm sure you know the Sports Hub here in Truckee has The Entire Moss lineup in there demo fleet!!! I imagine you acquired your SW62 from them....yes? Unfortunately I'm on the AIL sidelines for the first few months this season but hope to back at it in March. Hit me up for a Moss play date if your riding brings you up to Tahoe! Cheers!
  8. I tried Gecko/Virus isolator plates for the same reason. Wasn't much of a difference imo. Actually in retrospect my problem might of been I tried the Geckos under a standard TD3. (it was terrible!)......not BP version! But a UPM Plate on a board with UPM inserts (not the 4x4 to UPM adapter!). makes my knees/legs last all day!
  9. I tried that. That's a No Go! It was damn near unridable.....and the weight, Ugh!
  10. In trying to readjust my underhang bindings on my wider boards I (old guy with a brain injury ) need a refresher on setting up my TD'3s from the board up......somethings not right, as I'm coming up with crazy 30/55 angles by just turning the base plates out to almost meet the "fuego box" ??
  11. Ha! Yea Jack, your not the first to pen that!...that's been my moniker for quite awhile here! Historically I had set all my boards at the same angles....it's just what worked, or has worked for me but with this upcoming ankle surgery for a torn left outside tendon, well now I feel I have to try to learn to ride with the angles on the wider boards set out to the edge. This debate has gone on for quite awhile here and I had, of course tried the Fuego box method to move my angles but riding those decreased angles just felt too awkward to change at the time. But now, well I feel I have to adapt...... because I have to decrease the amount of torque/pressure on my post surgery weak ankles and hamstrings! Yes.....I'm still the UPM Plate Master and Yes I still have a Donek AF (or two ). The AF was/is the Bomb on my K168!! ......... but the F plates are OMG Wow! on the shorter (Rev and Angrry) boards .......which is just how the Master, Sean designed their application!
  12. Thank God it's finally October! I'm on the AIL sidelines until (hopefully only!) March if all goes well with PT but here's my quiver for this upcoming season. My arsenal has slimmed down from 5 to 3 boards this season. 1- Swoard Dual II 168 - my everyday, all conditions work board, EC board 2- Coiler Angrry 160 XXT + Donek UPM F Plate - Hard Charging Carving Machine 3- Moss PQ60 - It will ride/carve everything but I save it just for Pow days If I had to be limited to only one board, this would be it! 4- And to provide me inspiration while on the AIL sidelines I got another turny little bandit in the oven at Donek that Sean promises I will see in early Dec. that will round out the arsenal! I'll hang it on the wall for motivation until the day I can get out and ride it! What's Your Lineup??
  13. Thanks Scully. It's just the price of a dangerous over crowded sport these days imo. I had never had any ski/boarding incident to speak of the last couple of decades before this......so I was overdue I guess! I was ready and begrudgingly willing to give up this whole season to get my turn back and be stronger for next season but the Docs. are saying I could/should be able to get back on the hill late March! Now I'm stoked!! I hear ya.......but I'm sure PT will address it if it shows up and you should be good to go for this season!!
  14. Bad: More Surgery!.................Left Ankle Surgery for complete tear of outside tendon, which was expected. Good: Doc says if my Hamstring/Conjoined Tendon surgery PT recovery doesn't hold me back, I could be back on the hill four months after this ankle surgery and PT!! Hopefully surgery can happen by Nov. 1....so I could give the Bunny Hill a go by March!!! I've just started PT for the torn left Hamstrings surgery and go back next week for round #2. They were impressed with my strength/progress and I'm gonna press them for a timeline date I should be cleared for the mtn. If the PT sages sound promising I'm going to hit up Sean at Donek for a new board to hang on my wall for inspiration/motivation until the day comes this season I can get back on the hill......and ride it!
  15. I think those guys are getting low more from their overall flexibility than specific Quad strength...... I gave the Burton Step On system a go and I found I needed more Quad flexibility than Quad strength. Going from hardboots to even the stiffest softboots is like wearing flipflops imo and I just couldn't get the control I wanted. Now if your a softbooter moving up to the Step On system then you would see/feel more stiffness/control than you had previously.
  16. So sorry to hear Buddy! I always enjoyed crossing paths with you at the resorts and the many chair rides and runs we shared! I feel ya! I'd say try to enjoy your retirement! At least that's my sentiment for myself being on the AIL list for all of this season....if not longer depending on how my ankle surgery goes next month! Keep riding here to stay in touch!
  17. Hey Dred, Very Interesting..... which bodes (quite) a few questions! What was the impetus behind wanting/needing to add to the already very broad Donek lineup?? Where would you say this new model fits in the Donek lineup in relation to the Rev and the MK?? How about in comparison to a Coiler Angrry 163 and Rev 163 ?? I assume it's not a one trick, one length pony like the MK. Exhausting...... like the infamous vibration/buzz of the MK or what??
  18. Just now seeing this! Holy Skwal Yami! Do you need a Lethal Weapon License to unleash that beast on the slopes?? What bindings and angles you gotta run on that rocket??
  19. Anybody here had a surgery like hip or knee replacement that resulted in compensation disability payments? From my conjoined tendon/ hamstring surgery my Workers Comp claim specialist says my hamstring surgery and soon to add ankle surgery are surgeries that will result in some limitation or disability and they are going to compensate me a lump sum based on those surgeries doled out at $295 every week!! Not sure I like the disability designation and didn't/don't expect much if any limitations from the surgeries after PT but here we are!! Maybe it's just because this is a workers comp claim...........but anybody else here been compensated with/from/for your surgeries ...aka disability/limitation restitution???
  20. Fall 23 bump...... Still in the hunt for an unused set of OEM 5 position lean adjustors.......
  21. This guy sings my mantra........mostly by the rareness of another carver on the slopes! I believe this guy is from and was filmed at Okemo in VT....... definitely dressed like an Ice coaster!
  22. Anybody got one their not needing?? https://www.bomberonline.com/TD3-2nd-Board-Kit-BP-Version-_p_235.html
  23. Well last season I learned it's pretty difficult to turn/carve right/toe side with only 1 hamstring attached in your left quad! Normal anatomy has 3 hamstrings/conjoined tendons per quad/leg. It's possible...as I not knowingly did it/attempted it all season long! .... but kept wondering why my riding/carving still sucks (after being airlifted unconscious off Squaw with concussion in Jan. 22 season) as I was having difficulty and actually not being able to turn right at times on my wider boards....Moss 26cm waist and Swoard Dual 2, 26cm waist......all boards in hard boots and TD3 SW Si's. And I was/had been thinking all along it was my concussed head making me suck/still holding me back! I also learned with only 1 hamstring in left quad your left ankle is going to take a beating having to majorly compensate for your left quad with only 1 hamstring! Enough that I popped 2 tendons in my ankle and will probably need surgery to fix that problem also................. How did Docs not catch this you say???? Workers Comp just takes FOREVER! I must have strong quads?? because I passed every torn hamstring test they gave me and It took 5 months to convince them that I needed an MRI because it's not getting any better from the PT and massage they prescribed. I'm 3 weeks out from hamstring surgery and sidelined until..... April if all the planets align and surgery and PT work! Time will tell.................
  24. Thanks CB! This has been a loooong week of being mostly immobilized and uncomfortable in this restrictive brace but I go in for the 1st post-op Tues. and also a MRI same day on what I tore in my left ankle when it was having to compensate for my left leg/hamstrings! I hope the ankle is fixable with just PT......but I doubt it with the way it feels!! Fingers crossed, We will see!!
  25. Well, had the Conjoined Tendon surgery 3 days ago, Mon. Aug. 24th and will go back for 1st post-op eval Aug. 1st The surgery was estimated to take an hour but of course my Tendons were a mess of frayed ends and they had me under the knife for 2 1/2 hours!! They have me on crutches and in a brace on my left side from my navel down to my knee to restrict me from putting any pressure on the staples holding the tendons back in place......so sitting is difficult and I have to slouch. Feeling no pain thankfully but difficult to get comfortable except when laying flat on the bed but getting in and out of chairs of any kind or bed is a chore! As of today/Thursday I can put all my weight on the left leg so already gone from crutches to a cane......Yeah! If the surgery, recovery and PT go as planned the Doc. says I could be back on the hill (bunny hill probably!) by April/May.......that's my motivational goal! Time will tell~
