  1. Ok, school me........what's the thinking behind Oxess boards only coming with 4 hole binder inserts?? You got much less fore and aft adjustment compared to a standard 6 hole insert pattern. Does Marcel just expects his buyers are just going to be putting a Flexy Plate on anyway/in the other inserts and the 4 hole pattern is cosmetic?? What's the deal??
  2. Like it says.........looking for Allflex Carve Pro or Carve Let me know what ya got
  3. Great to her Ladia! Glad to her your still at it!!
  4. Well after the months of AIL Hell I've been through from my collision, concussion, airflight and surgeries.... I get anxious just booting up whether it's crowded of not! It only takes one straightliner to ruin your season...or longer! That's why these days I go mid week riding at night ......what few that come out at night, most of them stay on the "Park" chair so I avoid that lift and the runs I'm on are deserted! But even so I'm still such a Nervous Nellie I'm getting whiplash from constantly checking my six! I'm a lifelong road bike rider and I've always used a rear view mirror attached to my biking helmet. I know it looks cornball but it works and it's one more level of safety. I seriously think I'm going to try to attach one of those to my SB helmet! https://www.blackburndesign.com/p/helmet-bike-mirror/BB-2020203.html?googleMerchant=1&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAn-2tBhDVARIsAGmStVkHAbIK2JlZg8Rv_nGInFcAKKoPlEQayVJ47ME_ylydey5tWmSAEDkaAuIGEALw_wcB
  5. Off the AIL finally! Won't be legal for work until March but got four laps in at Boreal tonight. Probably had 2 inches of fresh fall while I was there but I didn't fall, didn't get hit and didn't ruin my two surgeries! So huge success imo. The weight of the board and hardboot when riding the lift was far more uncomfortable on my ankle surgery than actually riding but taking a break and getting the boot off after the 1st and 3rd run helped tremendously. Pow is in the forecast for the next 7 days So we will see how some deeper night action pow riding goes my next time out this Fri. or Sat! Wish me luck!
  6. Hey Andre, thanks for that info....1st dibs PM sent What weight was/is it made for??? Where you located??
  7. Interested, curious minds want to know..... What model year is this from? What's your weight this was made for? How many days and/or seasons on it? Any base grinds? I assume this is standard RS waist of 18.5 Great board at a great price
  8. Hey Pow, I got two F Plates myself and those oval tabs are Bar nuts and have nothing to do with setting up your F Plate on your board. The Bar nuts fit in recessed holes on the backside to hold the front and rear metal discs on the side rails. Did you get any of the mounting screws? Seems like previous owner didn't have a clue on it's parts..... As for F Plate setup....it only fits one way with the Donek logo toward the nose, move the sliders over a set of front Slider inserts and you will see where the rear Plate holes can lineup with the inserts on your board.....move accordingly to line up the Plate over the inserts. You don't have a lot of options fore and aft. What is Gear Trade? and how much did you pay?? Also I assume you know your best binding setup is a low stack height/low profile binding. I use Bomber BP Lowers with Bomber SW SI's. With a regular binding on a Plate the stack height is crazy high imo. https://www.bomberonline.com/TD3-2nd-Board-Kit-BP-Version-_p_235.html Additionally I hope you have had a few days to ride your Rev 163 sans any Plate to get the hang of it. Revs are a Serious ride that will pitch you into the woods if your not constantly on your A Game! Hope this helps............
  9. So Cool, Love the Sims Homage Neil! Yep, with my Coiler Angrry 160 build I also was going for a tribute to one of my Favs.....2000 Sims 166 Daytona in Candy Apple Red with pin-striping along the length of the board. This was as close as Bruce and his graphics guy could get.
  10. Hy Corey, Curious where this fits in your quiver? Or is it replacing your Coiler EC 170ish??
  11. So..... looking for a convertible and the MB SL400 and the E400's have caught my eye. The wife and I are test driving the SL and and E series Cabrios next week. I work in CA and we have been contemplating a cross country road trip from Cali to our home in NH in May and then for me to drive it back to Cali in Aug. I've test driven both but need to get the wife in them to see what she likes comfort wise. I could be happy with either. Obviously the E series offers more room/storage. Just wondering if anybody has had experience good or bad with either series cost to maintain, reliability, E series soft top vs SL series retractable hard top .....etc.
  12. Thanks there Slab, glad to hear a 1st person testimonial! Yeah they say their up to the 3rd Gen on the Fly 6 now......you know, faster, lighter, tougher, etc.... Currently 10% off of $239 Fly 6 price is sort of tempting....but I'm in no hurry! Stay safe out there!
  13. Yes, I know it's winter but I'm on the AIL sidelines until March!.......so I got Waay Too Much Time on my hands to think about stuff! So for motivation to get me through the next 2 months of PT (at least that's what I told the wife ) I bought a new road bike and in setting it up for riding next spring I've been thinking of getting a rear facing camera.....you know, for safety, just in case! I ride most every day and average 150+/- mile per week 6 months of the year.......So S--- Is Bound To Happen Eventually! There's not a ton of options but the Fly 6 is one of the more popular models and just wondering if anybody here is or has used one??? https://cycliq.com/bike-cameras/fly6ce/
  14. Here's the latest to my lineup all Plated up and Ready to Rip! .......which will be sometime in March/April when I'm allowed back on the hill from hamstring and ankle surgery! MK Mutant 20w UPM for Donek F Plate TD3 SW SI's running 3/6 60/65
  15. Yeah my Swoard Dual II with 25.8 w and 10 scr is the best EC ride I've found for with my setups....and I've tried the Swoard EC and the EC Pro.
  16. Huh? This hurts my brain to put this into a real world context.................you playing pinball off the Joeys when they crash and burn in the park?????
  17. Well I took the MK Variant to a trusted Ski Tech we use that I know does excellent work for base prep and a solid wax job. On seeing the board the Tech said that the base was one of the most fuzzy/hairy Donek's he's seen.....which I did notice myself when I unboxed it. Sean's generic paperwork that came with the board stated it was good to go/ride with a just good waxing but did suggest a base grind to get the utmost performance out the board "if racing". The Tech's suggestion was of course to add structure/base grind and reset the 1/2 edges. Just wondering how many of you 1st time MK riders just slapped some wax on and rode it like you stole it! Or.....did you go straight to your local shop first for some structure and a base grind??
  18. Freecarver Series in a 9scr and a 6scr boards! I'm gonna have to demo them!! Of course with Binders just to mess with his mind!, he's a Tahoe local and see him on the hill often when he's not off sleping up some god forsaken vertical bowling alley!
  19. Thank God! It took all my strength to resist my UPM addiction!!!!
  20. Ha! It seems I'm the last holdout of all things UPM these days. I love my K168 UPM +AF Plate, Rev 163 UPM + F Plate and Angrry 160 UPM + F Plate........ So I wouldn't count on it Kneel!
  21. True that Jack! It would mellow out the MK buzz/ride. Wonder why nobody's tried?? But we both know 4x4 Plate applications don't even come close to the performance of a UPM plate application and Sean confirms this also! Not to mention the 4x4 stack height using TD3 SW SI's is vertigo inducing imo!
  22. Yep, what tha Man says, it's proprietary. Mine is a MK that's 20w like Corey's variant.... Plus UPM inserts! UPM Baby! Sean and I discussed the dreaded MK Buzz/vibration and besides the fact it took me quite a bit of persuading...(aka pestering the Hell out of him!) to build a MK Variant with UPM......Sean liked my thinking of this creation as not only an Ice slayer with neck snaping turns, but putting on a Donek F Plate which as a flex modifier will nullify the notorious MK Buzz while saving impact on the knees which will extend the MK daily riding time! Time will tell if my hypothesis was correct........
  23. Damn straight it's going to be an Ice Slayer!
  24. Looky, looky what Uncle Sean left on my doorstep! This is a MK Mutant~ where it differs is the 20w and UPM inserts for a Donek UPM F Plate. And of course being a MK Mutant/Variant it cannot have the MK topsheet...so I had them run RGB Glossy World Rally Blue and Gold. The photo doesn't come close to depicting it's metallic/high gloss surface! As I'm on the AIL until March I get to stare at it (for inspiration/motivation to get thru the next surgery and the ensuing PT) and dream what a neck snapping ride this is going to be! When I get it all mounted up with the UPM F plate and TD3 SW SI+ BP lower assembly I'll add a photo of it in my lineup in the "23/24 Seasonal Quiver" post.
