  1. Yeah i have to work on my switch toe sides. One of my friends posted it to a freestyle form and the views shot up fast. Some of the comments are pretty funny too. http://www.reddit.com/r/snowboarding/comments/2246vt/a_very_good_friend_of_mine_having_fun_on_his/ Stewart

  3. Today was the last day at our local hill but it was one of the best last days ever, we had blue bird sky's and sweet snow for the morning be for it warmed up. Usually at this time of the year our hill is closed or super soft so this was an epic surprise. Lucky I was able to find my Go Pro and convince Gabe T to film me for the last couple of runs of the year.
  4. My dad and I will be in Ottawa/ Quebec from March 7th to 9th to do some carving, we were thinking Mont Blanc but are open to suggestions if any one knows some better places. We just want to ride some other place other then the small hills we have near Toronto. If any one wants to join that would be sweet. Stewart
  5. Yeah that what I thought happened. Still doing better then me, last week i went to go night riding and forgot one liner for my boot. See you on Wednesday. Stewart
  6. Hey I just took your bindings off your board and saw that you had heel lift on the front foot and toe lift on your back foot... the complete opposite of what i and every one else I know rides. Lol so your bindings may have been set up backwards. We will park on the Moonstone side tomorrow so you can pick up your board if you decide to come out and play in the fresh snow tomorrow. Stewart
  7. I think its about $750 now as it went up in November, so i don't think it will be worth it. as for lift ticket deals ill look around but off hand i don't know of any.
  8. We should be around as well as some regulars. We got amazing conditions and everything is open, except the outback. MSLM has been getting hit with snow storms off and on for the last week or so as well as some very cold temps allowing them to blow lots of snow. Stewart
  9. I have a 165 VSR AM XT Asym and it is my go to board for every snow type or terrain. The board is built the same as a non asym board but with a twist, depending if you are goofy or regular the front heel side edge of the core is thinned out ever so slightly as well as the rear toe side edge. This compensates for the angle of your foot on the board giving you the ability to rock side to side instead of driving front to back threw out your turns, allowing for a more effective turn. The lay up when building the board is the same its only the core that is different. The first time you ride a asym board it feels a little on the soft side because you are driving instead of rocking side to side but the more you ride it you soon forget about the asym, that is until you try and ride another board and it feels like more work and stiffer.
  10. Wow, there is no binding reinforcement. Its just t-nuts into the wood, I wonder if its like this just because its a boarder cross board meant for a normal soft boot bindings, not hard boots? Or if its the way Prior makes all of there boards. I know other company's reinforce there inserts with additional fiberglass or plastic to keep boards from ripping apart. Glad your OK! Stewart
  11. Conditions were a little hard to day because it was -12 over night but here in Barrie it is snowing and only -4 so the snow should be great tomorrow. Coverage is great no brown spots. If you are planing on coming up park on the Louis side as Moonstone has been opening later then normal.
  12. I was there last week/ weekend and they had lots of man made snow on the Louis side I think they had 80% of the runs open on that side but only 2 runs open on the moonstone side. I might be there Friday as well Saturday, Sunday and Monday. See you there! Stewart
  13. Its been snowing here in Barrie most of the day and the tempatures are now cole enought that MSLM is blowing snow With a little luck they might think about opening more trails by friday when they plan to reopen. Stewart
  14. Bruce just got a new fancy CNC machine so the mig wire has been shelved.
  15. Just thought that I would let every one read the good news, Mt St Louis Moonstone opens tomorrow Saturday, December 1st. The weather here in Barrie has been very wintery. We got hit with a foot of snow, followed by on and off snow squalls for the last week and by some -7 weather last night and too day, meaning they have been able to blow enough snow to open four runs (a green, blue, black and the junk yard) So I hope to see the usual suspects and maybe some new carvers this year. Stewart
  16. The masonite board use to be a template but now its used as a table on the wheely carts when gluing the edges on to the base. I Guess I should have moved it when I was taking the pictures for the topsheet slide show :)
  17. Come to the moonstone side!!!!!!! Stewart
  18. Its hard to say because of the freeze and thaw cycles. Its been pretty good most weekends and the weather looks favourable for Saturday. Last weekend we got a dump of snow! Stewart
  19. How high is the plate from the board on the Jasey boards?
  20. I ride with my boots with the least amount of forward lean as possible, I find it makes my riding equal, and allows my boots to bend/flex as they were intended too. To make riding conferrable I have toe lift of my front foot and the same amount on my heel on my back boot this keeps my body in a neutral position and on the centre of my stance. Unless you are either knocked kneed or bow lagged then you don't need canting. Canting and lifting is a very understated part of a good setup, I've scene many bad setups that left good riders riding badly and in pain. This article helped me a lot and helped me solve BAD shin bang. http://www.yyzcanuck.com/E_tech_article04.htm Stewart
  21. Yep, thats the Magical Coiler plate in all its glory. It has a new home now as it's being replaced with a new sexy version soon to come. Stewart
  22. So I also got a chance to ride the Coiler soft boot board and it blew my mind! Super edge hold and speed! Soft boot boards typically have a 7 or 8m radius forcing riders to either carve so slow that’s its no fun or slide the turns verses a boardercross board which almost has a GS side cut and you end up going mock 10 which is too fast for us every day riders. This board allows the rider to carve as hard as they want but with out the GS speeds as it only has a VSR 9.5m radius. Gabe said he liked the board on the flatter hills but I found it way more fun on the steeps. Compared to a typical glass soft boot board the grip is amazing because it has titnal allowing the rider to lay down carves. Here is a short video I made riding the board. Stewart

  24. Lowrider, that sucks that you guys got rain, here in Barrie we got about 2cm of snow as well as its -9. Tomorrow should be firm :)
  25. My dad and I went riding today, it rained yesterday so it was a little soft but over all good coverage, about 90% of the louie side is open and I would expect they will open more as soon as they can. See you soon. Stewart
