  1. Looks like the rockered sole created a leverage point at that spot. a bit of wedge on the binding's toe plate would alleviate that stress point I will do that for the used backlands I bought as a precaution.
  2. I assume they broke in the same manner,? guessing at the back foot heel ledge? just bought a pair so I'm curious.
  3. taking the rv to park in Cusick next week for the season, will be doing a couple days a week at 49*N. are you driving shuttle this year?
  4. maybe after the holidays I can join you for a buddy day
  5. have you checked out Plum split binding? French I think. https://www.fixation-plum.com/en/bindings/9772-sok.html
  6. Hi Dave, I'll take the Backlands, if I could pay half now and half after the new year. How wide are they compared to the delux 27?

Hi Troy! I'd say the Backlands were snug-ish, in a good way—like a glove. No hot spots for me. I had problems with Deeluxe t700's. Painfully tight/narrow in the forefoot and no heel hold. The Raichles I had were 28's and the forefoot was fine, but I still had heel lift problems.

I read that the Backland lower shell is heat moldable. It sounds like a do-it-yourself operation, not sure. I didn't need to do it and I don't think it ever was done on these, in fact, the previous owner never used the boots.

I have no problem with your payment plan. I would be more than happy to do it for you.

I let a friend take them home to see how they fit his feet and if they would work with his ski bindings. He's a skinner upper. He said they didn't fit, but I don't have them back yet. They're yours once I get them back.

  7. I did ride og my burton performer in high tops a couple of times! then I got some real boots!
  8. I want a snowstake! that's funny, my mom lives 3 blocks up that street! Been clearing snow for her this week.
  9. if you want to drag your armpits get your toes and heels closer to the edges and add some splay so the front and back legs are more independent.
  10. My burton drivers in flow bindings were damn near the same flex as my Raichle 123's with stepin plates, while being way more bulky, less convenient and far less durable. Durability is a big issue for me while corporate capitalism prefers dispose-ability.
  11. this right here... "And IMHO if you did it right,,,, softboots would go away and just persist in Parks. Because you would get more all mountain performance from a lightweight mid height hard shelled boot with a medium flex, I mean WHO would not like a pair of snowboard boots that weigh LESS than a single softboot and a lighter more versatile binding system? Plus maybe the ability to swap cuffs and tongues and clip into a Firmer Alpine carving board? " I've been saying this all along. When I saw the Killer loop soft plastic shell lace ups 30yrs ago that were sooo flexy I realized that there is a really wide spectrum of durometer/flexability for plastic to make boots out of. Nordica sbs ( ground control's grandaddy) were on the right track but sewn on uppers are never gonna cut it. laces (even metal ones) and straps to hold your foot on the board are what I've always called "caveman tech," it might be scientifically advanced material and user friendly ratchets but it's still century's old tech in application, time to give up on steam engines and embrace the 21st century.
  12. my low profile bindings are durable stepin ,. my plastic shelled boots are soft, my boards are wide for hardbooters and narrow for softbooters. I regularly carve groom, snake the trees, dance in the bumps and surf the pow on a single run. been riding a happy medium since the '80s ps. 45*front/30* back on all boards except the skinnies that demand more to prevent bootout
  13. I used an old ski bike for a while but it's wooden skis did not hold up to for very long. Super easy fun on blue trails at Blacktail but very difficult fun in the steep and deep at Alental. Would love to try out a modern one. I found one foot on the front and the other on the back ski gave me better edge control over the front ski. When I'm too old to lock in to an alpine stance I will get one!
  14. we got room in here for you if need be! Premium studded snow tires FTW! any suv should be fine
  15. I'm playing by ear this season but will try to join the party. 1st messages on the new starlink internet, seems to be working
  16. bout time the big K got on the hardboot wagon
  17. The enduro will be a game changer over the stock vega for carving, assuming you got an xr? trail riding will be even more improved! toe hooks really help heelsides feel more stable/controllable, and keeps the feet in position over curbs and bumpy trails.
  18. The very physics of a single self-propelled/self-balancing tire is really tempting fate. as for price? new alpine board $1200 new alpine boots $500 new plate binding $400 season pass $500-$1000 whipping out the wheel for 15-30 minutes of happy turns anywhere you go for penny's worth of electricity? priceless
  19. cruizing my fav industrial park and met a young moose heading for a small marsh. taken from the onewheel posted a clip on youtube. encountered a moose on the snowboard at 49*N a couple years ago but didn't take the camera out.
