  1. Age 44. I have been a New England HARDBOOTER since 1990. Still to this day can't always call myself a CARVER! lol
  2. My reference to wanting it to go faster/top end is not so much when making turns on the "real" parts of the trail, but rather flying through flat areas or "places you might tuck" where on other boards, I feel I can sit back and blow by people/catch up to my group, etc... and track really straight. I do realize it is only 165 and really tight, so you can't have everything. :) Edited to not "talk for Dave". Sorry.
  3. I like that board. Similar to mine. I asked him for a SL/AM hybrid for crowded and crappy/variable NE conditions. Mine is also 165, 20.5 cm waist, same 16mm taper, 8.8/10.8/9.8 and 7.1+ 5 for my weight. I love the quick turn ability as you said, using half the width and it has great edge hold. There are times I want it to accelerate a bit faster, but I always remind myself I have longer boards.
  4. PSR, I do run really thin socks. I do have an aftermarket footbed, but not a nice custom one. I should probably invest in real-deal custom beds (silver bottom/green top) like I used to have that somehow have been lost. I think my a-la-carte method to assembling and fitting these boots kind of bit me and I may have been pennywise/pound foolish. I bought the Free 69 shells only, added F2 Intec heels, bought the Palau 151 liner separately from YYZ and had them fit at a reputable but local fitter, but maybe didn't advocate for a truly proper fitting as I bought none of the gear from the fitter and it wasn't "theirs". Contrast that to when I walked into Startingate like 15 years ago and bought the combo (CMC as salesperson) of Raichle 325's with thermoflex and intec built in, matching Raichle bindings, two tongues, custom molded footbeds and got fitted like a pro. I couldn't believe I could use a shell that small relative to my usual shoe size and they fit like that. Those boots revolutionized my riding and comfort and I used them right up until last year. I will update post-stretch.
  5. Thanks for responding Jack. I was standing up--it was a professional setup at Boston Ski and Tennis--I didn't do a kitchen oven job. I had extra material in the extreme places and good caps. My feet are so damn wide compounded by what I believe are bone spurs at the outer widest part of my foot just rear of where my little toe begins. I think I really need to try grinding out material from the shell and then remolding liners one more time (like I have money and time for that in between work, family, etc...). Canting inwards helped a bit, but it is beyond that, I realized this weekend on the slopes.
  6. Thanks Darko. Revised canting helped, but I may need to shave plastic.
  7. Thanks Erik. Unfortunately, I yard sale'd the old gear here last year. I will start by inward canting again even though it seems counterintuitive and keep tinkering. ac
  8. After 10+ years in my old Raichle 325's/Catek WC2SI, mid last year, I switched to some Deeluxe Free 69's (same boot, same mondo)/F2 titanium SI. Even though I have a really short, wide foot, my old thermoflexes always took care of it without boot mods, allowing me to run a smaller shell. This time around, I got the 151 Palau wide thermoflex liner which is a dedicatedly wide liner and had them custom fit/cooked. Standing in the boots in the house or at the base, there is plenty of room in the boot--I can put them on with little effort. However, after just a run or two, the widest outer parts of my feet feel like they are about to be snapped off, like breaking the edge of a cookie. I can tolerate it to a degree and it gets easier as the day or night wears on, but I don't get it. I think the other factor is canting. It should be noted that I am slightly bowlegged. With my old Cateks (the best adjustment possibilities ever), I usually canted inward on both, with big toe and heel lift respectively and felt good. I switched to the F2's for a softer ride as I get older and for less board wear (Bruce almost wouldn't build me a board if I was going to ride it in the Cateks). People have also talked me out of inwardly canting as a bowlegger, so now I am flat cant-wise, with a small amount of heel and toe lift. I usually run 60/55 or so. Boards are 2016 Coiler metal AMT165, 2004 Madd 170. Love both boards, but need to sort out these boot/binding issues. Any thoughts on a remedy with the current setup? AC
  9. I might want to buy them back. Will PM you.
  10. Lost one and I know its not functional, but I want one back. (Black pref, but would take red) Anybody got one? Thanks! AC
  11. Has this been happening? Not joining team (not that skilled), but will be nearby Crotched a few weekend nights and wanted to say hi on hardboots.
  12. Love the all blacked out OS2s. I miss mine though my body thanks me for moving to a softer ride.
  13. If those are your two choices, think about your foot shape. General rule of thumb is that 700's have wider front foot area and narrower heel and 325's vise versa. Getting a proper fit is the most important thing.
  14. Is that what you wanted? I have Titanflexes, but also have the regular thin rubber pads and short hardware to convert them to normal f2 binding for a less tall and flexy ride on days where I want that.
  15. Love the Frantic leash. Had one bitd. Also had the 2 piece Emery's that resulted In my only snowboarding injury ever way back in 1991.
  16. This is a 2005 version. I have "The Lightsaber". Great fun board for the money. Scoop it up.
  17. I second PSR on Sparks. Stiff, quality and support the company still making hardboots for the majority of us.
  18. Great news. Long live Coiler.
  19. Technically delivered in the spring, but never saw snow. Just came back from a Mike D tune and structure. Let it snow.
  20. How magnanamous of you.
