  1. Wow awesome responses guys. The Donek Freeride wide looks like a great fit. It also looks like i could stay with a 161 and still have great edge hold and stiffness too. Would this be a board that is too stiff too once in a while do some real short radius turns in? cuz once in a while I could get in a flow doing that with my older board and it felt great. I am worried this Donek freeride is going to only be able to do big wide gs style turns. I can go from doing long wide fast turns one run to real hard aggressive short stuff the next. I guess i am getting to what size you would you guys recommend given my dimensions. 6 ft 180 pounds. Thanks again. Well Mr. Cuban Please inform me then ;)
  2. What is your opinion on their boards? I am looking for a new soft boot board. I am carving on hardpack 95% of my time on the mountain. I can lay deep trenches and hold very strong lines but not to an extent like you guys with the hard boots. Problem is I need the board to be at least 25.8 wide for my boots. Coming from a K2 Recon Riser 161 I was getting heel and toe drag on soft and hard snow and for some reason I was just never really impressed with the board.Any specific boards in general I should look out for? Thanks in advance.
  3. actually i am a little confused with the booster strap situation. could someone explain to me exactly what they are and what they do? Thanks
  4. Thanks for the suggestions guys. The easiest thing would probably be just to put a booster strap on my bindings somehow but they are not locking. The bindings are Rome Targas 06-07 version. Or I don't know if these would work to put in my current salmon F24 boots or not? http://www.bomberonline.com/store/boots/acc_af_race_kits.cfm
  5. Is There such a thing? Or is there some sort of insert I can stick in there or even build myself? I just bought a pair of salomon F24's which are from what I am told the 2nd stiffest soft boot salomon makes next to the malamute. After 2 days of riding they are broken in and have lost all their stiffness. If it helps here are some shots riding just to show you. These prob won't help but whatever.
  6. I know there are some on this forum that like me are still riding a soft boot/binding set up. What are the soft carvers on here riding and what is your stance. Right now I am on a K2 Recon Riser 161 board Salomon F24 boots Ride CAD bindings
  7. hmm i was just looking at these rides too which look very nice. With a carbon heelcup and aluminum bits everywhere else. here
  8. I am kind of apprehensive about the cateks. Just because I have heard that a big foot does not fit that great in them. I am wearing size 12 salomons now and I am going to upgrade salomons this year to the f series to maybe bring the size of my foot down a little. Also all of the adjustments seem to be a little intimidating. Cateks are looking pretty expensive too. My k2 recon riser I am riding on now already has 6mm of lift built into the board with 2 of the 6mm being for cushioning. I wonder if the cushioning under the nideckers will be too much cush under me combined with the 2mm on the board. Also is there suck thing as too much lift on a soft boot setup? Other wise I am really liking the nideckers. Any other suggestions for bindings? Also any boots that will help me bring my shoe size down a little besides salomon F series? Are salomons boots fitting alright into the nideckers and cateks? Really thanks a lot guys I know I am asking a lot. p.s. yea i was looking through the forums and i saw ur pictures thinking "thats a great example

  10. I am looking for a new pair of bindings. Last season i bought a k2 recon riser and loved it to death. But my Drake F60's are slacking and are about 4 years old. I am a hard carver for still using a soft boot setup. I do want something stiff But i will be riding on them for days at a time so I dont know if a carbon back would be too much. Also I dont know if a toe/cap strap would give me some drag when carving. I am wearing size 12's on the recon riser with no drag now except for the heelside. This is about as far over or more as ill go. here and here Any suggestions Thanks.

I am a very hard carver for still being on a non full on carve/speed board. But becuase i like to lean over so much and so hard I am getting some drag on the part of the baseplate that meets the high back.
