  1. I always have toes and heels as close to my edges as possible with no hang. Never had bootout issues and don't want to. Works in the east and I don't change anything when I go west. Used to get bootout on skis before riser plates. Don't want to experience that on a board
  2. I bought nordic skates for ice kiting. 55cm blades for lake ice. Use my Salomon XC skate-ski bindings and boots. Have ozone frenzy kites. I'll use my 3 or 5m with skates. Never tried my bigger kites
  3. Ikon base pass. After turner mtn feb10-13. And montana snowkite rodeo feb14-17. Plans are Jackson hole, steamboat, aspen then copper before heading back east. No fixed itinerary. Depends on snow conditions and accommodations.
  4. Skied once since 2000. Should be entertaining for my friends to watch me ski today
  5. In revy today but on skis. Coiler under my feet tomorrow. Where is everybody meeting?
  6. Backyard noboarding with stomppads for grip.
  7. just made the call. Two more registered

    How many indulge in snowkiting?
  9. Anyone have a place in frisco that could be available to rent for February? Or know of anything that could become available. Need it from January 29 to march 2
  10. demoed a kessler this winter and surprised myself with gps readout at end of day. without trying for max speed(straight down) I managed 95kph while carving. usual carving speed is in the 70s on my own boards.
  11. big thank you to Chris for putting this day together again. thanks to Dave and Andrea too for the apres munch and Henry I had a way past fast blast on that Kessler. thanks to all involved hope we get to do it again next year Rob and Monique
  12. hi jack yes, reduced snow feel but i wouldn't want to ride without one. unless in pow. more of a detached sense at slower speeds or slarving or sliding. interesting drill with a plate is to spin 360s. I don't see any plate helping newbies. it is a carve plate works best with board at a functional carving speed speed and a commitment to the carve. I think you do get used to the new feel. more of a feeling of line than snow. not sure if my words are expressing my thoughts.
  13. still have pond skimming plans for JayPeak.
  14. if I tell you someone will kill me might just be a place to stick sponsors logos
